I wonder why they even bothered making that change. Did they not like the stripes in 1951? Or did they just want to change something so that people would know it was a reissue? Something to ponder (or investigate).

Well, I've heard that some title-card changes were done on reissues so that they would better match those of the newer cartoons that were on the same releae schedule. In some cases this just involved a change of font for the lettering. But here only the background colors are changed; the lettering is the same right down to the listing of William Hanna as "Bill". Why was he credited less-formally than Joe Barbera and are there any other T&J cartoons from the 40's that have the same credit spellings? The BG colors of the original title-cardwere supposed to represent the stripes on a contemporary zoot suit. There were still zoot suits being worn in 1951, weren't there?
