tips on preserving You Must Register Before You Can Post

I was looking at the thread that a lot of you collect 16mm. I'm always hearing about how films in studio archives are poorly preserved and that some are so deterated that they are lost forever. Several organizations are trying to go though these films and restore them. I wonder if any of you do anything to keep your collection prestine and any suggestions on what other collectors can do so their films can last.
