You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Chuck Barris, creator of "The Gong Show" and the $1.98 Beauty Show," has died at age 87.

"The Gong Show" began airing in 1976, and featured acts that were mostly unsavory. Anyone who performed terribly, which was more often than not, was gonged by the panel. A couple of these emerged unscathed, including Cheryl Lynn of "Got To Be Real" fame. Later, there was "The Gong Show Movie," as well as "Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind," a biopic about the game show host.

"The $1.98 Beauty Show" ran in syndication from 1978-1980. Ironically, the most unattractive woman was invariably crowned the "beauty" queen.

    RIP, Mr. Barris.

An unknown Paul Reubens aka Peewee Herman was part of an ensemble comedy act on The Gong Show that also won the grand prize of $516.32 (union pay minimum for the Screen Actors Guild for one day of work). The music group Oingo Boingo (with film composer Danny Elfman), Super Bowl winning coach Brian Billick, comedian Michael Winslow (the sound effects guy on the Police Academy movies) and actress Mare Winningham and future Annie star Andrea McArdle won top prizes on the show.

John Barbour of Real People series fame hosted the 1976 Gong Show pilot but was replaced by Barris as host when NBC bought the show for its daytime lineup. Gary Owens hosted the syndicated nighttime weekly version for the first season before Barris replaced him as well.

Barris composed the 1960s hit song Palisades Park that was performed by Freddie Cannon. Barris composed the theme songs for The Newlywed Game and the 1970s Treasure Hunt marching theme.

Barris's daughter Della introduced her daddy in some Gong Show episodes. She died of a drug overdose in 1998 at age 36.

The movie was written and directed by Chuck Barris concerning the fictional backstory of being the producer and host of the show and the stress it brings from wanna be amateur acts stalking him everywhere, network censors, and his relationship with his girlfriend.

It was an attempt to build a movie around actual outtakes, blooper reel footage, and uncensored scenes from the game show. Phil Hartman appeared in a short scene in an airport and Gong Show celebrity regulars such as Jaye P Morgan, Jamie Farr, and The Unknown Comic appeared uncensored.
