    Other Side Of Maleficent

    I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Funnyman Will Ferrell and partner Adam McKay are working on bringing back everyone’s favorite stone-age family. The duo’s production company Gary Sanchez Productions is in development on a new Flintstones animated feature.

    Disney To Feast In France

    The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Kaye Ballard, best known as Kaye Buelle on "The Mothers-In-Law," died on January 21 at the age of 93.

    This series was unique in that, with the exception of Suzie, all the characters shared the names of the actors who played them, until Season 2, when Richard Deacon took over as Roger. This show lasted from September 10, 1967, through April 1969. Afterwards, Ballard starred in "The Doris Day Show," and also played the hockey coach in the original "Freaky Friday." However, like the late Carol Channing, she had an all-inclusive career on the Broadway stage as well as the big and small screens.


    RIP, Ms. Ballard. :(

    Sorry to hear that. Of course Kaye was a featured guest on "The Hollywood Squares" game show. I do recall her on the "Mothers-in-law" with Eve Arden. I recall one episode in particular where Eve & Kaye (and the husbands) are discussing something and there's some trepidation... Kaye expresses that as only she could... exclaiming that she doesn't want to end up walking the street and singing (at the top of her lungs)... "♫♪ EVE AND KAYE MAKE FOOLS OF THEMSELVES ♪♫" (and in perfect pitch)... :D
