You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

I can't blame Hanna-Barbera for trying with "The Pirates Of Dark Water." After all, it was a great epic about a seafaring hero in search of treasure, and villains who also wanted what he was after.

Ren was a handsome, heroic prince who traversed a dangerous sea in search of thirteen artifacts. He and his crew were up against not only a band of pirates, but the sea itself, which seemed to have a mind of its own. A familiar plot, but these adventures didn't take place on Earth. The setting was Planet Mer.

I noticed that the animation for both the miniseries and the regular series was considerably different from traditional H-B animation. I concluded this was necessary, since the show was never meant to be cartoony. But I also found it difficult to follow. Still, I felt that like others before it, it was cancelled prematurely, and should have begun and ended on ABC, instead of starting out on Fox, moving to ABC, and concluding on "The Funtastic World Of Hanna-Barbera." It also let people down by not having a satisfying conclusion. Ren and company never completed their quest. So no one will ever know if all thirteen artifacts were ever found. But at least H-B began to rebound from their slump with with this remarkable epic adventure.

Trivia Question 8: How many of the treasures were found before the show was cancelled?

    Answer: Eight.

Another really early childhood memory for me. The only thing I truly remember about this cartoon is the monkey bird Niddler--which at one point I needed help identifying in the mystery cartoon section because I really could not place him any where--and had no idea what cartoon he was from. I also have a vague memory of an episode called "King Niddler" which of course revolved around the monkey bird.

Didn't watch this series much. Do remember Frank Welker played Niddler the Monkey Bird and Jodi Benson (Ariel in "Disney's Little Mermaid film and tv show) played the voice of Tula.

An open-ended quest show like Hanna-Barbera "Gulliver" where the quest was never finished. Pity.

At least "The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo" concluded with the rounding up of all 13 ghosts by Scooby's gang.

I never thought they rounded up all 13 ghosts--but maybe that was just me--then again they never made a gigantic anouncement that they did.
Also in the original miniseries of the Pirates of Dark Water--Roddy McDowall voiced Niddler.
