You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Help with the software for animation.

    Hello,

I usually tend to answer questions in this forum, but I have to ask this as I can't seem to find a good source anywhere.
In general I can't really find any good and easy to use software to create Hand Drawn animation video. I came across some companies that ask for over $1000 per minute for creating those Hand Drawn animation video. Others offer some rather cheap software that will probably scare away more customers than attract them.

So if anyone know's of a good software or of a good affordable company, please let me know.

    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thank you.

This goes back a ways, to the days of the Pentium processor, but Disney used to offer a software package designed to mimic the animation drawing board. Any starting image would do, ideally a sketch scanned in as a bitmap. From there, individual elements could be erased and redrawn as a "layer" on top of the base image. The mechanics are very similar to the trace-and-redraw system used by cel animators using the classic Barré board. I think it was called Disney Animator Suite, and sold for about $400.

Since each "layer" is a separate element, deleting / tweaking / redrawing piece by piece is allowed and encouraged, as opposed to redrawing the entire figure. Also the number of frames any given cel could stay under the virtual camera can be adjusted, creating a sequence of frames that appear on a virtual film strip at the bottom of the screen, ready for "pencil testing." I strongly suspect that Disney has upgraded this Suite, to accommodate faster processors, and to raise the number and quality of tools available; it makes for a fine way to cultivate more Cal Arts graduates that Disney Studios can harvest.

WOW, I admire your ambition because I miss hand-drawn animation in the USA TERRIBLY (particularly feature-length films from the Animation Renaissance of the 80s-90s. I hope you can find something that works; I use Photoshop's Animation feature to make my drawings move a little but I don't think that's what you are looking for. Good luck!
