    Other Side Of Maleficent

    I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

    The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Hey, everyone. Does anybody know any reliable sellers for board games based off of Hanna Barbera cartoons? I'm just starting to collect, and I'm not sure where to start. I know there's the obvious ebay, but I enjoy "the hunt" of trade shows/conventions/dealers, and I haven't had the best luck with bidding. I haven't used etsy before, either. If anyone has any input, please let me know! I'm keeping my eye out for toy fairs around the midwest.

    Hmm, I can't recall any board game based on Hanna-Barbera productions. There is one put out by (Milton Bradley when they were still extant?) based on Disney Television's Rescue Rangers series. This was mainly a children's game: roll one die, move the token, aim to land on "Collect One Piece" spaces, and avoid penalty spaces. Collecting six pieces of the same color completed a device that'd thwart Professor Nimnul and win the game. Since backwards movement was allowed, dodging penalty spaces was easy enough, and the central space was a wild-card, moving one's token to any other space on the board, including the Piece-Collect spaces. Typical play ran 15 to 20 minutes, though much longer if players abused the "Steal A Piece" space.

    I believe there was, one time, a Scooby-Doo version of Clue.

    Milton Bradley released a Richie Rich board game in 1982, but its art depicted the comic book series which had recently stopped publishing at the time.
