    Other Side Of Maleficent

    I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

    The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

Cartoon With a Son, His Dad, and Zombies

    There was this series that was on Comcast's "On Demand" when I was young (around 5 or 6). This period of my life was taken over by the cartoon "Tales From the Crypt" and MCR's "Helena" music video. Apparently, I went through and grew out of my emo phase before everyone else. This cartoon, or what I can remember, was a bright cartoon about a young boy and his father who move into a new neighborhood. This new place is a cemetery, and the inhabitants are zombies, but the dad doesn't know. The kid wants to tell his unaware father that they are in constant danger, but he befriends a young zombie girl who lives with her parents and decides that he would rather stay in this neighborhood and protect his dad from his own stupidity while he continues a relationship with the zombie girl. This show has got to be real, I remember it very much, and imagined the characters as superheroes, as well as singers, singing "Hips Don't Lie" by Shakira (I also went through my AMV phase as a 6-year-old as well). I don't remember anything else, but I would appreciate the help.

    Thank you, but unfortunately I’m a big fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas and definitely know that it’s not it. And Frankenweenie came out a couple years after I discovered this. Plus, I’m very sure that the toon I’m thinking of is 2D. Thank you so much, though!

    A five-episode animated miniseries made by Nelvana that aired on YTV. Each episode is only 5 minutes long, and was shown between regular programming.

    10-year-old Clark McWeeble has just moved to Rotting Hills, a place formerly known as Restful Hills until it was overtaken by zombies. His dad, who orchestrated the move in the first place, is quite excited about it and remarkably oblivious to anything abnormal about the place. Clark is understandably upset about the whole ordeal, but luckily for them the zombies turn to be the friendly neighbourhood kind.

    As he adapts to the place, Clark gradually befriends a zombie girl named Zoe and her undead dog Buddy. They have a few adventures; at least, as much as you can fit into a 25-minute series.

    Can be viewed here, although episode 2 is mislabeled as #3 and vice versa.
