You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

I am posting this after my rant in the Darkwing Duck thread. Disney has more dang good junk than anybody...period. Now, comparing them to other studios in terms of a good to bad ratio of each studio's own cartoons or something is an entirely different post. I'm just saying that Disney has made so much animation since like 1200 BC that they have the most number of good cartoons, whether they are shorts or movies.

I mention this because I've pretty much decided that Disney is one of those "things" that just has haters. I'm not talking about unapologetic critics who have reasons for putting down some horrible direct to video sequel, or some painful post glory era Chip and Dale cartoon. I'm talking about the people who just go around saying DISNEY SUCKZZZZ TEE HEE for no reason. Everythign as big as Disney has them so...eh.

I'm a long time animation fan myself. I have the internet at my disposal. I frequent this place and the GAC sites. I've been into this stuff my entire life, yet even I stumble across something that they did that I didn't know about all the time. I say to myself, "Well it must have been bad since I've never heard of it." I'm always wrong. Disney has made so many cartoons that are great that it's impossible to keep up with.

Haters, and even some firm critics are missing the boat because we all know good and well that there are many people who have absolutely no clue what "Fun and Fancy Free" is, or "The Great Mouse Detective," or a number of highly regarded works from the back catalog of TV shows and TV Specials...many of which were as good as the movies for a long time.
