You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Two hundred years ago, on December 20, 1812, the first volume of Grimm's Fairy Tales was published. In its original German, it was titled Kinder- und Hausmärchen (literally, Children's and Household Tales).

The Brothers Grimm (Jacob and Wilhelm) were not known as storytellers at the time. They were mainly linguists (authoring a gigantic, compendious German dictionary) and collectors of mythology. Their collections of folklore were based on tales told by others.

Cartoons -- including several Disney feature films -- based on individual Grimm fairy tales are too numerous to count, but here are some series and individual cartoons based on the brothers' collected works:

The Wonderful World Of The Brothers Grimm (Cinerama Productions Corporation In Association With Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1962)
An Oscar-winner for Best Costume Design, Color and nominated for several other Academy Awards. This live-action film had puppet-animated elves and a dragon by Project Unlimited. Characters included the Brothers Grimm, Rumpelstiltskin, Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, and Little Red Riding Hood. Produced by the great George Pal, of Puppetoons fame.

Grimm Meisaku Gekijou (Nippon Animation, 1987)
Airing for 24 episodes on TV Asahi, this was known in English as Grimm Masterpiece Theater. It was the first installment of the Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics series.

Shin Gurimu Meisaku Gekijou (Nippon Animation, 1988)
The second season of Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics, this was known in English as New Grimm Masterpiece Theater.

    Simsala Grimm (Greenlight Media, 1999)
In this 26-episode German series, traditional stories are presented in the form of exciting adventures of two new, recurring characters. In each episode, presenting one of the Grimm Brothers' fairytales, Yoyo, Doc Croc and the Fairytale book go on a thrilling journey into the world of fairytales and fantasy. They observe the tale in progress and react to it. Sometimes it is not easy for them to interact, but they always find a way eventually. They have to, since otherwise the tales' happy ending is at risk. Cinderella, Snow White and the Frog King all need a little help to make things turn out well, and Yoyo and Doc Croc make sure to provide that little extra push.
