You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Adult Swim has been successful on Cartoon Network, but...should Nickelodeon have its own version of Adult Swim?

The shows that can be on there would be...

    Ren and Stimpy
    Beavis and Butthead
    Daria
The Story of the Brothers Grunt

I dunno if it'd work, but it isn't too hurtful to ask....

Personally, I always thought the world would be better off without these cartoons.

Hmm, so far, Nickelodeon seems to hold to its current format with no sign of diversifying, which would be a form of brand dilution. However, if Nick did consider a mature programming block, the question arises as to which production studios to tap for content. Of course, if they could swing a series or two in-house, that'd be ideal, but that won't be enough to fill a devoted program block. Going down your list:

    * Ren And Stimpy by John K Studios. Not likely. This series is dated, and John Kricfalusi is somewhat of a pariah in the industry. I strongly doubt Nickelodeon wants anything from that studio.

    * Beavis And Butthead by Judgemental Films. Another dated series. Mike Judge currently has a cash cow series with King Of The Hill. BAB was Mike's starter series, and it's almost an old shame of his. Pretty sure Judgemental Films will let this title die off in obscurity.

    * Daria by MTV Studios. An in-house property for MTV, they're not going to let a rival broadcaster touch their stuff cheaply. Sure, more airplay of one of their productions would be a good thing, but MTV will want to be the broadcaster rather than (ugh) Nickelodeon. So, Daria is basically, "It's my toy; you can't have it! Nyeh!"

    * The Brothers Grunt by MTV Studios. Not happening for the exact same reason as Daria.

Seriously, if Nickelodeon wants to broaden its content, I'd take a clue from Toonami and screen some anime from gekiga, iyashikei, and sekaikei series, possibly josei as well. Nickelodeon really won't be comfortable with the riskier stuff like Ranma ½ or Kill La Kill. Perhaps Wolf Children, Usagi Drop or Girls Und Panzer would work. Those overseas studios are very creative and very productive, so filling a programming block with their content is a win-win for everyone.

Just thought I'd suggest it...since Cartoon Network's Adult Swim was successful and I think Adult Swim should now be a stand-alone station.
