You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

I was going to let my hair down at this point, but i'd better be WAY patient and ONLY do it until i'm ACTUALLY ready to do so PROPER and things have REALLY and TRULY honestly settled to my proper structure....

For understandable reasons for now, I've decided to return after a long regretful hiatus (SpaceDemon's saying of Never Say Never has a LOT of truth to it!.)

And of course, since we talk about cartoons here, and i can't keep ALL of the info to myself, I've decided to talk about the Care Bears and related whatnot material since the original American Greetings cards from 1981....

Lately I've been interested in watching the Care Bears cartoon series, yes i know the VIP kids and the raunchy adults here dislike it and firmly see it as cutesy pie candy sugared goofy sunshine and teddy bears (this reality is harsh, isn't it?) and spoof it into ways seen on shows like the Simpsons and Family Guy, but however, i see nothing wrong with believing in yourself, i see nothing wrong with love and caring and i defiantly see nothing wrong with sharing and facing up to your fears against actual specific things like the dark & really petty things like "scary logos" et al.

The animated series started with two specials, one in 1983 and another in 1984, this led to the Care Bears cartoon series much later in fall of the same year.

The original animated TV series was an international co-production, with DiC Audiovisual of Paris, France and of course Nelvana in Toronto, Canada, who'd successfully produce the amazing funny Inspector Gadget series, of course, & compared to the later episodes, these were extremely different cartoons...

The DiC series had Professor Coldheart and his lackey Frostbite, just like in the specials, and a few episodes feature Auntie Freeze, and also of course this series, aside from the animated duties done in Japan usually either through their own Animation City in Japan or TMS sometimes, shared nonetheless the same art-style and animation as the specials, although the bears and cousins are drawn closer to the original cards than in the later Nelvana material which had them drawn similar to the two specials.

Later on, as mentioned earlier, after one season (1984), Nelvana, which previously did a successful movie one year earlier (1985), began to quietly assume all of the animation duties for the Care Bears, and made the Cousins more prominent than ever before, and the result was The Care Bears Family (1986).

This time Professor Coldheart is replaced by Lord No Heart (based from the dark shadow enemies from the movies), and unlike Coldheart, his henchman was not limited to one character (Beastly) there was Dr Fright from the Room of Doom episode, and later his niece Shreeky appeared in a couple of episodes, although later she was made into a main villian as a sort of a dark poisonous Proffessor Coldheart expy in the Grams storybook episodes, a lot of fans from this series thought that the addition of Shreeky more or less jumped the shark on the whole series...

But then the same can be said for the redesigns of Cheer Bear, Champ Bear, Brightheart Raccoon (who appeared less in the actual episodes and more on the storybook episodes) & the Pig character, untill, the storybook episodes or the past (dinoland) or present (SS Friendship episodes), i don't think appeared in any episodes of the DiC episodes or any other episode besides the Shreeky episode.

And as Nelvana is now doing the animation duties, the animation now more or less resembled the movies...

    I'll say more later....
