You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Today Is National Bath Day, so...this means we have many cartoon characters bathing either in a bathtub...or shower baths count.

The one that sticks-out the most is Donald Duck...thanks, Chandler Bing!...

Forgive me for not looking up the exact title, but there's a Popeye cartoon where he's getting ready to marry Olive Oyl. Part of his prenuptials includes taking a bath. Bluto sabotages this effort by adding cement mix to Popeye's bathwater, which hardens in place. "Talk about hard water..." Popeye mutters at the result.

This one's just an illustration, but: in one CinemaScope cartoon of Tom and Jerry, Tom is seen looking at a magazine with a pretty kitty peeking from behind a bath curtain, with a bathtub behind her.

Now, far and away, Japanese anime has bathing scenes galore, both in outdoor hot springs (onsen) and in-house tubs. Bathing happens almost every episode for Saotome Ranma, as that's how he changes genders from girl to boy. Girls und Panzer has the Oarai girls bathing together (furo scene) while deciding who will do what duty aboard the salvaged Panzer IV. A merman pretty much lives in the protagonist's bathtub in Orenchi no Furo Jijou. I'd estimate that more than half of all Japanese anime have a furo scene or two in them.

Does the Cartoon from The Fox and the Crow called "Mr. Moocher" count...even though Fauntleroy Fox is wearing boxers while bathing? Probably a Hays Code thing, but...we see him sewing a hose in his bathtub.

Those'd be swim trunks, which were rather decorative in those days. Confusion with patterned boxer shorts pushed the industry to solidify the colors on swim trunks during the second World War.

Minerva Mink in her debut cartoon is all set to bathe in a nearby river when Wakko and Yakko Warner show up to ogle her. Dot Warner stuffs her errant brothers into a suitcase and hauls them away. "Can't a girl get any privacy?" Minerva grouses, then pulls down a modesty screen from the top of the frame, disrobes, then steps into the water.

I recall a scene from Tom and Jerry's "Baby Puss",where Jerry's in a dollhouse pretending to take a bath. As Tom spots him through a window, Jerry screams and covers himself. Of course, like MrCleveland (and Chandler) have pointed out, since the characters don't wear clothing, what exactly is Jerry covering up?

There was a Porky Pig cartoon where he mostly wears a towel...it's Porky's Pooch and despite being bottomless all the time...he puts a towel around his waist.

Bugs Bunny emerges from the tub in The Rabbit Who Came To Supper, one of the Schlesinger cartoons that slipped into the Public Domain. Bugs also walks around naked, but puts a towel around his hips after a bath. This is the cartoon where Bugs Bunny allegedly shows his "dangly bits." Can't be, though: they're the exact same color as the towel, and rabbits have their testes above the penis, not below.

Bugs Bunny is also seen bathing in a lake in Dr. Devil and Mr. Hare when a Tasmanian Devil comes along. Taz samples the soap suds on Bugs's head, dislikes the taste, and promptly adds ketchup to the rabbit.

^Many times on U.S. Acres/Orson's Farm, Orson would be bathing and when he gets out of the tub or shower...he has a towel around his waist, even in one cartoon Orson is seen shocked when the shower is busted so he wraps a towel around his waist even though he's naked most of the time!

Eris, the goddess of discord, is seen bathing in a spiral galaxy. Apparently divine beings use stars instead of water. From the DreamWorks production Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas.
