You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

These cartoons are about cartoons that have characterized celebrities, cartoons such as "Autograph Hound", "Hollywood Steps Out", "Slick Hare", and even cartoons in modern times such as many "South Park" episodes, "The Critic" episodes, and "Animaniacs".

I just wish I could see them all....

Brown, Eddie Cantor, Charlie Chaplin, Maurice Chevalier, Chester Conklin, Marlene Dietrich, Marie Dressler, Jimmy Durante, Prince Edward, Douglas Fairbanks, Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, Janet Gaynor, John Gilbert, Sid Graumann, Oliver Hardy, Jean Harlow, Boris Karloff, Buster Keaton, the Keystone Kops, Harry Langdon, Stan Laurel, Harold Lloyd, Bela Lugosi, Frederic March, the Marx Brothers, Adolphe Menjou, William Powell, Edward G. Porky's Road Race (Looney Tunes; Warner Bros., 1937)
Porky sponsors a road race of the stars. He has to fend off Boris Karloff's dirty tricks. Porky's other rival racers include John Barrymore (and his then-wife Elaine Barrie), Charlie Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy and W.C. Fields. Colorized in 1992 (look for Charlie Chaplin with blond hair!).

Malibu Beach Party(Merrie Melodies; Warner Bros., 1940)
Jack Benny and Rochester host a beach party at Jack's Malibu home for various Hollywood stars. Contains parodies of many major stars of the time, including Fred Astaire, John Barrymore, James Cagney, Bette Davis, Alice Faye, Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, Bob Hope, Kay Kyser, George Raft, Edward G. Robinson, Ginger Rogers, Cesar Romero, Mickey Rooney, Ned Sparks and Spencer Tracy.

Hollywood Canine Canteen (Merrie Melodies; Warner Bros., 1946)
Some Hollywood dogs open and run their own bar. This is the familiar Hollywood USO club, except that film stars and famous musicians are depicted as dogs, such as Hairy James (Harry James), Lionel Hambone (Lionel Hampton) and Boney Goodman (Benny Goodman). This cartoon also features canine spoofs of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy, Joe Besser, Blondie and Dagwood, Jerry Colonna, Bing Crosby, Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Durante, Ish Kabibble, Kay Kyser, Dorothy Lamour, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, Carmen Miranda, Edward G. Robinson, Frank Sinatra, Leopold Stokowski, Monty Woolley and -- once again! -- Ed Wynn.

The New Scooby-Doo Movies (Hanna-Barbera, 1972-1973) featured Mystery, Inc. trying to solve mysteries, as usual, but this time with the help of some celebrity guests, including Don Knotts, "Mama Cass" Elliott, Sonny Bono and Cher, the Addams Family, the Harlem Globetrotters, Jerry Reed, and many others.

Have You Got Any Castles (Warner Bros., 1938) - Eight years before Book Revue, "Castles" featured a few caricatures shown on the covers and in the pages of books. Those featured included Alexander Woollcott (his parts were originally cut out, edited back in for the DVD release), the Mills Brothers, Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, and Cab Calloway.

The CooCoo Nut Grove (Warner Bros., 1936) - Ben Birdie (Ben Bernie) is our Master of Ceremonies, and is harassed by Walter Windpipe (Winchell) at the fabulous CooCoo Nut Grove-y (parody of the Coconut Grove). Some of the caricatures are in animal form; others in human form. Lew Lehr, Groucho Marx, Harpo Marx, Laurel and Hardy, and Greta Garbo are just some of the guests tonight. Those performing include the Dionne Quintuplets.

The Woods Are Full of Cuckoos(Warner Bros., 1937) - Yowsuh, yowsuh so help me, we have a large lineup of caricatures in the form of woodland creatures. Woollcott makes another appearance, this time as Owlcott. Ben Birdie (Ben Bernie) welcomes us once again, and as always is harassed by Walter Finchell (Winchell). Other guests include Milton Berle, Martha Raye, Lily Pons, Grace Moore, Deanna Durbin, Jack Benny, and Andy Devine.

I've Got To Sing A Torch Song (Warner Bros., 1933) - Let's all listen to the radio! Who knows who we'll hear. Bing Crosby might croon a tune while taking a bath. Ed Wynn might let us know when it will be 8:00, whether we like it or not. The Boswell Sisters might entertain us.
