    Other Side Of Maleficent

    I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

Challenge of the Super Friends (90 Minutes)

    Does anyone remember if, regarding the 90-minute setup of Challenge of the Super Friends (1978-79), whether or not after the first 15 minutes of the block, a traditional Super Friends half-hour segment (first a new for '78 episode, and then a '77 rerun) played next before giving the last 15 minutes back to CotSF?

    Thus, if the logic is true, then regarding the original 1-hour setup for The World's Greatest Super Friends (1979-80), after the first 15 minutes of the WGSF episode of the week, would the '77-'78 Super Friends reruns play afterward until giving back the last 15 minutes to WGSF?

    The same logic would also apply to the 1980-82 Super Friends hour longs, wherein the 1980 and '81 episodes (three per week) were all seven minutes long. The other 30 minutes inbetween these shorts belonged to half-hour reruns originally broadcast from 1977-79.

    Again, assuming the logic is true, this would've been:

    I do remember the "Legion of Doom" stories were split into 15 minute segments start and ending the 90 minute block in a first few weeks of the season with two "Super Friends" stories (Superman, Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Zan, Jayna, and Gleek only) and then the full "Legion of Doom" episodes were shown in the final 30 minutes of the block for the bulk of the season run. Those "Super Friends"-only shows from that season were considered "The Lost Episodes" in its current DVD release.

    I'm wondering why those other 1978 episodes weren't on the Challenge DVD set when that was originally released back in 2003? People really want to see the complete broadcasts, not syndicated cut-ups.

    I think there were more fans wanting the "Legion of Doom" episodes with the familiar DC bad guys on a DVD set than the other Superfriends episodes from that same season.
