You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

I know you guys have a couple of favorites (besides the obvious Mickey Mouse) but I was wondering who your favorite characters were. My top 3 favorites are Pluto, Figero and Flower.

I'm a fan of any of the ducks, especially Donald, Darkwing and Ludwig von Drake.

Well, corny as this sounds, I like Mickey Mouse. I know he was toned down from his karmic underdog persona in the Thirties into a vanilla everyman, but that's a smart move for a company figurehead. I mean, how much would you trust a product made by Dastardly Corporation or Glomgold Enterprises? It made Mickey relatable as an average Joe beset by peculiar circumstances, and needing panic / prayer / ingenuity / dumb luck to set things aright again.

Now, Goofy also works for me, because he's a straightforward, unabashed buffoon. He's the hopeless, clueless, uncoordinated clown in his cartoons, and when he succeeds, it's often a case of fickle Fate throwing the poor dog a bone. So, Goofy is a favorite as the pure clown act.

And I'll concur with Ludwig von Drake, a certifiable genius cuckoo. He's probably an omnidisciplinary scientist, happy to explain the physics of any subject to his audience, but his grasp of reality is questionable at best. Props to Disney for creating a character that is patently bonkers, but with flashes of brilliance; that's a very difficult character to compose and script.

    My favourites are:

Donald - for his short fuse!
Jiminy Cricket - a gem of a character: a hobo "everyman" who doesn't let his tiny size stop him from taking on big tasks (from dealing with the pages of a book in the prologue to acting as Pinocchio's conscience!)

Goofy - because I identify with him, I guess!

To me Donald Duck was the ideal Disney character. The original Donald Duck, who suffered from PTSD and flashbacks and had a short fuse, was an original and funny character. The old shorts with him angrier than hell always manage to put a smile on my face

But who said Mickey Mouse is so obvious? I mostly find him boring, actually. Give me Donald or Goofy instead! But my biggest favorite is a nearly forgotten one from the "Duck Tales" TV show: Fenton Crackshell.

Oh, and I forgot to mention my two favorite female leads from the Disney movie canon: Belle from "Beauty & the Beast" and Jane Porter from "Tarzan". You can't go wrong with brainy brunettes in my book. They both have a very cute excentric father too though, so there you go! ;)

And on a similar note, I have to love Milo Thatch from "Atlantis: the lost empire". It was like the people at Disney sat down, thought about me and said: "We're gonna make the hero of this movie a linguist nerd, just to please this random girl from Sweden". I mean, wow! I have not seen that movie for many years though...

Aladdin and Jasmine from "Aladdin" are my favorite couple from a Disney movie though. They are just so great together!
