You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Now I'm ready for something new in this forum: Top Tens.

Having survived The Blizzard of 2015, I decided to begin with my top ten winter/snow themed episodes of HB cartoons:

    10. "Cold Wind From Venus," "Samson And Goliath." Samson and Goliath prevent Venusian icebots from turning Earth into a frozen wasteland.

    9. "Groom Gloom," "The Flintstones." Remember, before having his nightmare, Fred warned Arnold it would be a cold day before he married Pebbles. And it was--complete with snow.

    8. "The Real Gone Gondola," "Clue Club." When Tom Caldwell's Aunt Clara mysteriously disappears, the Clue Club look for clues as to how she vanished.

    7. "Claim Jumped Jabber," "Jabberjaw." Jab seeks to reclaim his stolen deed from Coldfinger during a visit to Aqualaska.

    6. "The Midas Mix-Up," "Josie And The Pussycats." The Pussycats arrive in Switzerland for skiing, ice skating--and an encounter with Midas, who intends to destroy the world's gold supply.

    5. "Here's Snow In Your Eyes," "The Flintstones." While attending a Water Buffalo convention at Stone Mountain, Fred and Barney have a run-in with the maid and butler, who've stolen a diamond from their employer, as well as the fence Barney is mistaken for!

    4. "Professor Snow And Madame Ice," "Speed Buggy." Speedy and company are up against the title villains, who recruit Tinker to help them with their scheme.

    3. "The Aurora Borealis Creature," "Samson And Goliath." The heroes contend with a living form of the Aurora Borealis in an Alaskan Inuit Village.

    2. "Arctic Splashdown," "Jonny Quest." The Quest team heads for the frozen North to recover a downed missile. But enemy agents want the missile for themselves. Nice scenes with polar bears, seals, walruses, and whales.

    1. "That's Snow Ghost," "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?" The gang sets out to solve the mystery of the Snow Ghost--a phantom Yeti first seen by Fu Long Chi in Tibet.

Ah, I remember most of these. Lots of fun, though full of Toon Physics. I mean, Josie and company forming a cheerleader pyramid on skis? Cannot be done; It Doesn't Work Like That. On the other hand, credit where it's due, in that the Jonny Quest episode excluded penguins, which are found only at the South Pole. I can't count how many cartoons I've seen where polar bears encounter penguins; the latter tend to be petits fours for the former.
