You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Speaking of which, similar to how TMS is no longer used anymore (Japanese labor is really costly and expensive, because since TMS is doing Japanese original productions, Japanese animation in turn often have their work done overseas mainly to studios in the Philippines.), Wang, Akom (outside of The Simpsons), Saerom (their most recent use was in Scooby Doo Mystery inc.), BigStar Enterprise, Sunwoo, Hanho Heung-Up, Carbunkle Cartoons (though to be too expesnive, considering they in turn send work for Big Star as well, american producers don't realize that these guys work for cheap as well) Toon-Us-In (just a question, are those guys still around, as i can remeber, these guys worked on Rainbow Fish, Watership Down, Ren and Stimpy, Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys and Hey Arnold), Morning Sun Animation (they also had a sub studio called Shanghai Morning Sun that did Secret World of Santa Claus and Calliou), PASI (which stands for Philippine Animation Studios), Mr Big Cartoons and Filmographics are barely even used anymore, can anyone explain that and also by the way, any chance that even lesser studios such as Pacfic Rim Productions, Millimetos (ranging from El Salavador to Spain that did mostly opening intro stuff like Stunt Dawgs and Sonic Underground), Canvas Inc (did the Super Mario World intro, i think that show had a Saturday Morning Budget big enough to afford these unknown guys into animating the whole series but the producers were way too unnesscarily cheap and narrow minded to see that, so they just blew them off), Rainbow Animation Group, Dong Yang Animation (unless it was exactly the same as Koko Enterprise if not reorganized later into them), Fil Cartoons, Varga Studios (i think i misspelt it, im talking about the ones that in the latest, animated Mr Bean which in terms of animation was split with Sunwoo as far as i can tell) are still around.

I know for sure, that studios such as Sei Young Animation (for unknown reasons, maybe due to bad reception) , Spectrum Animation (due to that painstaking cel work on animating Mr Freeze by airbrushing every frame he was in, what could have saved them from bankrupcy was if those episodes of B:TAS that had Mr Freeze they were assigned to were done with computers on video, that really could have saved them and they would have lasted longer), Startoons (due to that extremely silly mindset that north american labour is too expesive when they don't know the actual labor in Asia, espcially even Korea is twice as expensive, sheesh, it seems no one wants to do animation in north america anymore or they are being lazy and brutish on purpose), and of course all three of the Disney TV animation units (which were from Japan, France and Australia and i belive all three were originally bought out materials with Disney Television Animation brands when they animated for Disney) are defiently no longer around anymore, sadly to speak.

I spectulate because nobody wants any variety in their TV animations anymore and out of the main studios being used the most primarly today, i must say the most overused studio today (out of DongWoo, Lotto Animation, Yaeson, i'll even include newcomer Yearim, Toon City) is most defiently Rough Draft Korea, come on guys, I really don't understand why they are THAT overused at all, i mean their work isn't even that great and going from memory, their stuff actually tends to be pretty forced, dull, cheap and really funky, not to metion inconsistent. i've actually read once that they drew characters pretty proffesionally, i don't think i can argue with that seeing how this is someone's opinion, BUT, going from stuff like Angry Beavers (comparing it to the promo artwork and the intro in which that was beautifully and expressively animated, i think Dave Feiss was behind it considering someone i head said that Feiss was often a seceret weapon for the intro for some of the 90s shows, even those Nickelodeon cartoons once) and also Dexter's Lab (compare it to the original cartoon where they change into exotic creatures using the remote, that was both animated by later Fairly OddParents director Jaime Diaz' argentine studio and Fil Cartoons of the Phillipines), I actually find the way they draw the characters rather pretty sloppy and rather extreanous looking, however i can't really judge them like that because they were in many ways alike to Wang Film Productions, both having major cosistency problems and varied depending who was directing them, that is not to say Rough Draft blew any chunks or anything, I'm pretty sure they were better at doing full animation than Wang as well.

The same can't really be said for the Rough Draft Studios Inc (the main Gregg Vanzo studio out in USA), these guys did great work on Ren and Stimpy when it was still the creator's own show (John K as a matter of fact), often splitting the work with another great studio Carbunkle Cartoons (Bob Jacques studio), as Thad once said on Speedy Boris' Blog, Spumco at one point itself worked for cheap too, often doing some animation themeselves (such as on Rubber Nipple Salesman) too.
i belive i've said quite enough here for now, i'd like to here your opinons and spectulations.
