You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Recurring Plotlines I've noticed in Hanna-Barbera cartoons.

As an avid devotee of Hanna-Barbera cartoons. I noticed several recurring plotlines in their cartoons:

    1. A character's boss will fire him over something trivial, only to hire him back before the end of the episode. This happened most often in "The Flintstones" and "The Jetsons."

    2. If an animal is part of the group, he's captured along with the humans. This occurred constantly in the action/adventure/superhero cartoons.

    3. When one half of the group is captured, the other half sets out to rescue them, only to be captured themselves. Again, used often in adventure cartoons.

    4. A male animal of any given species will fall in love with a female of his species at first sight. Although regarded as a sight gag, it also happened in an episode of "Shazzan," when Kaboobie fell for a female camel. Of course, he was under an evil spell, but still.

Interesting observations. The TV Tropes wiki has an article for your first item, "George Jetson Job Security", though it goes back to the Blondie comic strip, if not earlier. The three other items in your list may be covered there as well.

5.Someone having a crazy, nightmarish experience [Fred Flintstone with Pebbles, Bamm-Bamm singing and the three and Barney Rubble in the Flintmobile on the freeway escaping cops, the wives and Brian Epstein(Beatle manager)-esque impresario Eppy Brianstone] or Squiddley Diddley sneaking outta the aquriaum only winding up a pirate's slave] then waking up to find it was a nightmare!

    6. The lead character (or characters) are impersonated or framed by a rubber mask-wearing impostor, often just to give the protagonist a bad name or to confuse him. This has happened with Yogi Bear, Ricochet Rabbit, Squiddly Diddly, Scooby-Doo, Hong Kong Phooey (and his cat Spot!), Beegle Beagle (with a mechanical Grape Ape!), Richie Rich and his dog, even Don Coyote!

Not to mention both Birdman and The Galaxy Trio, and Speed Buggy, too.

    7. Mini-me versions of a character, in angel and devil forms, will "advise" a character on what he or she should do.

    May I try?

    8) One or more main characters does something awesome. Their friends and associates cheer them, and bystanders applaud. But then a news crew shows up and remarks, "You'll be on TV." Panic time, when the character cries, "Oh, no! I can't let my wife / boss / team / whoever see this!" Thus begins a desperate effort to keep a certain someone from discovering the obvious, which is like trying to hide an elephant in the living room.

    9. Hotels are invariably pet friendly.

    10. A character yells into a bottle or other open object. Then, when it's opened by someone else, he hears the character's voice issuing from the object.

Villains somehow know exactly when a plane or ship will arrive, and even know something about its cargo or passengers. Also, one of the protagonists will see a suspicious character on their cruise or flight, and tell the others about him or her.

Whatever awesome device the villain has that will conquer the Earth, or at least keep the heroes in check, will be left largely unguarded. This might be no guard at all, or one or two sentries that never turn around. The critical device is absconded easily enough, and a chase by the villain and his lackeys begins. This, of course, comes as too little too late.

I'm surprised James never mentioned this...

In the animated Little Rascals series, the episode "Flim Flam Film Fans" featured Darla tied to a railroad crossing gate. According to Wikipedia, that same plotline was used in The Perils of Penelope Pitstop.

Actually, I did mention it … on my MidcoNet site, from which another Wikipedia editor copied my episode summaries. I don't object to the copying, but I'd like to have had my authorship acknowledged.
