    Other Side Of Maleficent

    I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

    The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    As you all know now, today was Saul Bass' birthday!, Saul Bass did a lot of cool things, including doing the classic Hawaiian Punch commercial, taking over the Fritos Bandidos animated commercials after Cascade (the commercial studio were Tex Avery, Ed Benedict, et al, worked.) closed down (when DID they close down and what year, anybody know?) and he, shockingly as an artist and LIKE the fabulous Art Clokey with Gumby and amazing real-time animation and stop motion claymation-puppetry inspired by The Puppetoons of the influential 3D Stop-Motion animation puppetry master George Pal, is all right up there with the biggest celebrity style true real actual filmmakers like Otto Preminger, Alfred Hitchock, Milton Glaser, David Carson, Paul Rand, Geroge Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Tim Burton, Will Vinton, George Pal & even Bob Godfrey!.

    I've saw it and it's REALLY cool, and he is a REAL TRUE artist, and an extreme master of REAL-TIME graphics and a master of all styles.... no pretension at all and ALL of it is done for REAL!.

    So not fake as with UPA (Hollywood Disney cartoonists pretending to be this when they are absolutely not these guys AT ALL - so basically the pretension of UPA is obviously CARTOONISTS being something - fine high class famous celebrity serious filmmakers and realistic fine artists - they are absolutely NOT at all!) & Chuck Jones POST-heyday - i mean, not in general.
