You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Who didn't want to see "Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kids" "perform" on Saturday mornings? They were terrific, as far as I'm concerned.

The author of one of my books called this show insipid. Wrong. There was nothing insipid about it. I mean, four kids and a dog who were sent after bad guys by a talking computer was truly original. So was having the machine be allergic to dogs and sneeze. And the songs they sang at their concerts were rather catchy. On top of that, Butch's attitude was "I'm the leader. I'll take the risks." I liked seeing a guy who thought that way.

The first time I saw the show was halfway through its run, during my family's annual visit to Carolina Beach. The episodes I saw there were the last two, "The Super Sub" and "The Haunted Castle." Both of them convinced me the show was worth it, so I later saw more episodes on Cartoon Network, and eventually bought the DVD. The show didn't deserve to be cancelled after just one season.

This "teenagers as spies" concept premiered years ahead of the 1980s "James Bond Jr" series and 1990s "Kim Possible" and "Totally Spies" cartoons (and its live action inspiration show "Alias").

Merilee was a childhood crush with the go-go boots and short skirt...and the way she piloted a helicopter to get Butch (voice of Lloyd "Chip" Hand) out of trouble. Judy Strangis, who voiced Merilee, was the go-go boots-wearing Dodge Car Girl in the commercials in the 1970s. Judy is the sister of tv writer Greg Strangis and the daughter of tv director Sam Strangis.

John Stephenson was great as the team's computer boss Mr. Socrates...speaking with a clipped "computer" monotone when giving the kids their spy mission orders and sneezing and added a stuffed-up nasal delivery whenever Elvis the dog gets near him.

Micky Dolenz was the drummer on "The Monkees" series and here he plays the voice of Wally (not Harvey as most cartoon reference books called him) the drummer...like Scooby Doo's Shaggy, Wally would rather avoid trouble than confront it but he would gather enough courage (with the encouragement from his sister and band member Steffie (Kristina Holland) to battle the bad guys and help Butch Cassidy complete the missions.

David Cassidy was then a popular teen heart-throb when the series aired and the cartoon Butch Cassidy resembled him.

Takashi Masunaga did the character designs for the series. He later designed the characters for the "Dungeons and Dragons" series for Marvel Productions.

Butch Cassidy was one of the fewer scene ones to me. My brief past with it came when it aired one weekend on the boomerang block that took up the 6-7 AM time. I remember watching the one on Saturday. It came on after a show i had wanted to watch more. And to be honest the two chief things that stayed in my mind "okay that theme is cool" and "the girls are cute". I was a bit older then anyway. But moving on while some of the other details stayed with me, the episode really didn't. For whatever reason i do recall being unable to watch the episode they showed on sunday. But in years later seeing the intro on youtube made me want to see this show again.

When the DVD came i was prepared to give the show that shot, and boy did it exceed my expectations. This is a pretty good show, the spy theme helps make this show stand out quite a bit more than it's fellow meddling kids groups. The group chemistry here is pretty notable too. I feel like this one clicks a bit more than i really would have thought to give it credit for.

I have to say in general i'd consider it a good show sitting in HB's lower decks. I feel it's a shame it didn't get much more exposure in reruns during my childhood, but now with the whole thing is on DVD, i feel that's the far better alternative.
