The Greatest No Longer.

Another tragic loss. Legendary boxer Muhammed Ali is dead at age 74.

Born Cassius Clay, he became a professional boxer in the 1960's, and changed his name to Muhammed Ali. He was eventually dubbed "The Greatest," with his most memorable bout being against Joe Frasier in 1975. That same year, he was immortalized in a song called "Black Superman-Muhammed Ali." This overlooked classic contained the boxer's catchphrase "Floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee." Two years later, he played himself in "The Greatest." This yielded the song "The Greatest Love Of All," originally by George Benson, and later covered by Whitney Houston. On top of that, he also voiced himself in the short-lived animated series "I Am The Greatest: The Adventures Of Muhammed Ali--" quite possibly the longest title ever for a Saturday morning cartoon.

In 1978, he lost his title, and eventually retired from boxing. He was later portrayed by Will Smith in the biopic "Ali."

Due to Parkinson's Disease, and declining health, he was hospitalized, and placed on life support. He died either last night, or early this morning.

RIP, Mr. Ali. May you float like a butterfly up to heaven.
