The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, ongoing-ier.

PLEASE FOLLOW THESE RULES IF YOU WOULD LIKE PLAY.

Please limit your characters to those found in theatrical or television animation, which may include televised commercials. No video game characters unless that character has appeared in a cartoon series.

When it is your turn to post the mystery character, first verify that your character has not already been used by checking against the master list found below. Give at least 3 clues per day (roughly, no one is going to be timing you). Don't give more than 9 clues total for the character, but you can reveal the character after only 6 clues if you prefer.
If no one has correctly guessed the character after 6 to 9 clues, reveal the character and take another turn. If no one gets the second character after the requisite number of clues, reveal the answer but do not take another turn. Instead of taking a third turn, you must pass control to someone else. To whom you pass is up to you, but please try to be fair.

Please do not ask for any extra clues or for information not covered by the clues already given.

Our goal is to only take around 3 days per character, or 4 days if 9 clues are given. This is to keep the game going at an enjoyable pace. In cases where a character generates a LOT of guesses, that time limit may be adjusted.

One point is given for each correct character guessed. In the event of two people both posting correct guesses, the one who posted first will be given the point and the next turn.

Please try your best to make your clues descriptive of the character; no one has any fun when no one can ever guess the character.

Please limit your mystery character choices to those that have appeared primarily in the US. It is an unavoidable fact that the vast majority of people who post here are from the US, which is why we ask that all characters used appeared in the US in one form or another. This does not eliminate international characters by any means; just make sure you can provide information that would identify the character to someone who speaks only English and has never been outside of the US. As can be seen in the Used Character List linked below, there are international characters that have already been used, but in each case they've also appeared in the US and in English.

The intentions of the member posting the mystery character will always be considered in any disagreements that may (hopefully not) arise, but as always, the word of the Administration is final.

And with the newest thread underway, it's up to me to kick off with a worthy Mystery Character. Aha, found one.

1) This character has appeared in theatrical cartoons, television cartoons, animated feature films, a direct-to-video release or two ... in a word, if it's animation media, this character has been there, done that.

2) Mostly, this character is mannerly and gracious. Mostly. However, in cases where another character is behaving badly, this character can go Mama Bear on him, and deliver a nuclear-grade beat-down.

3) Oh, let me not forget to mention that this character is human. And female. She's a stalwart, all right.

Ah, there's only one that she can be. And that's Granny.

1. She's run the gamut, most notably playing a Jessica Fletcher-type detective in "The Sylvester And Tweety Mysteries."

2. She does go ballistic when she sees Sylvester trying to catch and eat her precious Tweety Pie.

3. Self-explanatory.

Absolutely, this Mystery Character is Granny, longstanding stalwart of the Looney Tunes franchise, voiced by the even more longstanding stalwart, June Foray. EmeraldIsle collects another +1, and control of the board heading straight for 2015. Bravo!

Thanks, OUB. Since I'm fresh out of New Year's Eve/New Year's Day characters, I decided on this one:

1. My species rhymes with my unnatural color.

2. I'm too big to ride shotgun, so I ride topside instead.

3. I say my own name repeatedly.

Yes, Fluidgirl, that's just who it is.

Clues 1 and 3 are self-explanatory. As for Clue 2, due to his size, he rode on top of Beegle Beagle's van instead of inside it.

First of all, Happy New Year, everybody! Second of all, here's my next character:

1. I've been around on television since 1969
2. I appeared animated in a brief daydream sequence in my franchise's first movie
3. I'm mostly known for my TV work in live action

Can't think of anyone who matches the clues. Guess I'll have to research 1969 TV.

Happy New Year! As for the clues, I'll need to research this.

Alrighty then, here's the next set of clues. I hope they clinch it.

4. The movie I'm thinking of celebrates it's 30th anniversary this year (2015)
5. The TV show I'm in is 45 years old, and still on the air
6. The movie is live-action, but there are two animated segments that I'm in (one is the daydream sequence I mentioned in clue 2, the other is me announcing the "sponsors" of the movie)

Aha! Just checked all the movies of 1985, and found it. It's Big Bird, isn't it?

You are correct, EmeraldIsle! The character in question is Big Bird, specifically from the movie "Sesame Street Presents: Follow That Bird." I've been on a Sesame Street kick lately (it was a staple of mine growing up, and I still enjoy the old clips today; and not coincidentaly, Big Bird is a favorite character of mine). Now for the clues:

1. "Sesame Street" was created in 1969, and Big Bird was there since "sunny day" 1

2. There's a short animated version of Big Bird, daydreaming about what it would be like to live in a bird family

3. "Sesame Street" is a predominantly live-action show with little cartoons here and there (though I'm not positive if "Follow That Bird" was ever the only time Big Bird has appeared in animated form)

4. "Follow That Bird" was released in 1985

5. Last year (2014), Sesame Street celebrated it's 45th birthday, and the show is still running

6. "Follow That Bird" is live-action, but Big Bird appears in it animated twice. Once during the daydream I mentioned in Clue #2, and at the beginning, when he says "Sesame Street is brought to you by the letters W and B." (Warner Brothers produced the film)

I wonder if this is going to surprise OUB, since I had asked about this sort of thing before it was my turn again. He thought I was choosing a different character from a different movie.

2. When animated, I'm educated about how it's what you do with what you've got by a wise old owl.

Thought this one would be a no-brainer. Since I was mistaken, here are the last clues:

4. When I'm born, I'm kicked aside by my own mother.

5. By following advice about "Stick To Itivity," I'm able to win a special prize at the county fair.

6. My movie was the last one from my studio to combine live action with animation until 1964.

Bonus clue: Even though I'm obviously not one, I was named after a race horse.

Ah ha... It's Danny from So Dear to My Heart.

It's about a black lamb who was rejected my his mother and a boy who took care of him.
There is a segment where Danny was animated and was educated by an owl.
He was named after the race horse, Dan Patch.

Thanks. I never saw the movie, but the animated clip on YouTube seemed vaguely familiar. I might of seen that segment on the Disney Channel long ago. Anyway, here's mine.

I have been seen in animated form in shorts, TV and a movie.
In these particular shorts I'm shown as a man, but in a TV series (and movie) I'm a merman.
I hang out with mermaids.

No idea. Hopefully, someone else will have the answer.

I have one guess, but I'm not sure it fits the clues. Oh well, I'll lob the brick anyway. Aquaman was the first that comes to mind, but I'm probably wrong.
