    Other Side Of Maleficent

    I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Funnyman Will Ferrell and partner Adam McKay are working on bringing back everyone’s favorite stone-age family. The duo’s production company Gary Sanchez Productions is in development on a new Flintstones animated feature.

    Disney To Feast In France

    The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    The Show That Never Ends has been upped to 32 seasons, yes...The Simpsons!

    If a Nuclear Fallout was to happen...or The Apocalypse...The Simpsons will STILL be around!

    On a positive note: creator Matt Groening still collects royalties on the show, and donates a goodly portion to UCLA's fine arts college, where students of animation can get funding for skills development in the animation industry. Thus, as long as The Simpsons is airing, new animators are being grown in the greenhouse of UCLA Fine Arts. I'm good with that. :)

    But really, if FOX wants to keep losing more money (as each new episode is now like the TV equivalent to a box-office bomb), go right ahead. Less and less people will watch, and for all we know they might end up switching to Flash animation, so it'll end up always looking like those parts of the HD intro animated in Flash (like Marge, Maggie and Gerald at the supermarket.)

    It seems that Al Jean wants to keep The Simpsons on as long as possible...but people who grew-up with this show when it was must-see TV has seen the show in a rapid decline!

    Even if Matt Groening dies...I'm sure they'll find a way to keep The Simpsons on TV...even if it goes to FX!

    I enjoyed the show from the very beginning and through the next 15 seasons or so. After that, it got stale for me.

    ^ I remember that scene. From the episode where Bart sells his soul for five dollars.

    I have to admit, I only watched one full season, and that was Season 7, the 1995-96 season. Never cared for the show otherwise. The "Bart Sells his Soul" episode was by far the most hilarious episode I have ever seen.

    I remember when CBC used to air reruns of The Simpsons many years ago. CBC dropped the series in 2009 after 15 years of reruns.

    I am amazed to learn that MUCH in Canada currently airs The Simpsons reruns (and also South Park), on a cable network that was best known for playing music videos (hence the former branding, MuchMusic). Unlike today's MTV, MUCH does still play music videos, if limited to the morning hours.
