    Other Side Of Maleficent

    I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    It took a while, but we are finally here! The Big Cartoon DataBase hit the milestone of 150,000 entries earlier today with the addition of the cartoon The Polish Language. This film was added to BCDB on May 9th, 2014 at 4:23 PM.

    Funnyman Will Ferrell and partner Adam McKay are working on bringing back everyone’s favorite stone-age family. The duo’s production company Gary Sanchez Productions is in development on a new Flintstones animated feature.

    Disney To Feast In France

    The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    No, this isn't about Bill Murray. It's about Bob McGrath of Sesame Street, who died today at age 90.

    He was a cast member of Sesame Street from day one until 2016. He portrayed Bob Johnson, a man who interacted with both humans and muppets. One of his most memorable moments was when he sang "Good Morning, Starshine" from Hair to a group of Muppets.

    RIP, Mr. McGrath. :(

    One of them is Gordon and the other Maria.

    It disappoints me that the human characters on Sesame Street have less air time because of Elmo.

    I'm now watching Christmas Eve on Sesame Street and...it seems we're losing more actors on the show that was our childhood!

    Although I gave up watching the show in the mid-1980s (but not by choice), I realize that, based on the episode summaries I read on Muppet Wiki, I probably would have fully lost interest in the show after Season 19 - which was the last season in which the number sponsors only went from 2 to 12. Not a big fan of the higher numbers era. My interest would really drop so greatly when they added new sound effects and/or new music to certain cartoon segments.

    Although most of the 1970s/early 1980s cast continued appearing through the early 2000s, the show would not have been my cup of tea after Season 19 because the newer segments did not appeal to me, particularly the segments for the numbers beyond 12, and the numbers 0 and 1 (I'm surprised they didn't bring back to "One Song (Song of One)" film segment in Season 20). At least I was happy the creepy segments such as "Scanimate H" (with the scary cameo of Maria early in the segment) and "A Count of Ten" (with the creepy floating face) were discontinued by the 1990s. Another segment I was sensitive to, "Y for Yawn" (due to Gary Owens' tired sounding mention of the letter Y at the end), was discontinued after 2000.
