    Other Side Of Maleficent

    I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

    The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

Who Was Chips Spamm?

    Although everyone knows Mel Blanc was the voice of Dino on "The Flintstones"(except for "The Snorkasaurus Hunters," when he was voiced by Jerry Mann), one of my TV books credits Chips Spamm as the voice of the barking dinosaur. How is it that the author didn't credit the right voice actor? And just who was Chips Spamm? I can't find him on the Internet.

    Dino spoke perfect English with Jerry Mann's voice in his first appearance. Sort of a Phil Silvers-type fast-talking characterization.

    Dino just barked and yapped with Mel Blanc's vocals for all appearances afterwards. It's possible "Chips Spamm" was an alias to give the illusion that Mel Blanc only did Barney Rubble's voice and another actor did Dino's vocals.

    On the live-action "Bewitched" series, Elizabeth Montgomery played Samantha billed under her real name in the credits and her mischievous cousin Serena was billed as "Pandora Spocks".

    Ted Cassidy played Lurch in "The Addams Family" and his right hand played Thing...billed as "Thing as himself".

    Dino also spoke perfect English in the episode "Monster Fred." But that was due to the fact that his personality was switched with those of Fred and Dr. Zero.
