You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Woodstock.

This weekend marks the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock Music And Arts Festival held in Bethel, New York. Although the festival itself was never depicted in animation, it was referred to in several animated series, mostly by Hanna-Barbera.

In The Pebbles And Bamm-Bamm Show episode "The Golden Voice," the gang and the Bronto Bunch perform at the Woodrock Festival.

In The New Scooby-Doo Movies episode, "The Frickert Fracas," a pair of music promoters ask Maude Frickert if they can use her farm for their own rock festival. "You know, like Woodstock," one of them says.

The Jackson Five animated series has an episode called "Pinestock, USA," which was clearly inspired by the iconic festival.

The song "Woodstock" and its writer, Joni Mitchell are both mentioned in the Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kids episode "Double Trouble."

Last, but not least, Snoopy's closest friend, the bird hippie Woodstock, is seen in Snoopy Come Home, and many Peanuts specials of the 1970's. The bird was named after the festival after going un-named for several years.

I did read somewhere that organizers were planning a "Woodstock 50" festival this year, but due to issues (possibly legal, if I read correctly), they decided to cancel the event just a mere two weeks before the festival was scheduled to launch.

I personally think it may have more to do with former hippies (fans of late 1960s music) getting up there in age or having died, and some of the performers appeal more to younger audiences. Try looking for someone old enough to be a grandparent who enjoys music by Jay-Z and Chance the Rapper.

With the 50th anniversary of "Woodstock" having occurred recently (with no festival, unfortunately), I am considering developing a script for a Woodstock-style festival for my animated series currently in development. I am not sure what title I would give the segment, without having to use the name Woodstock.

I never knew the bird in Peanuts was named Woodstock in honor of the 1969 festival.
