We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Thanks, Salty. Now for this Cinco De Mayo, here's something else that'll make you chuckle:

"You wasted a wish! I wish that burrito was stuck on your big dumb nose!"

"Help! Get it off! I can't breathe nothing but burrito!"

This is from Daffy Duck's Fantastic Island, one of those Looney Tunes movies built around a bunch of pre-existing cartoons to tell a story. Daffy Duck makes this wish and poor Speedy Gonzales must suffer for it. Oh, and Yosemite Sam has the last wish--he uses it for a pirate ship though.

Ah, this is from one of the later series of Popeye cartoons, long after Fleischer Studios had been dissolved. Popeye the Sailor Man has the first line, and the Jeep (something like ½ Schnauzer and ½ teddy bear) responds with the second line. Since the Jeep is named after the World War II vehicle (G.P. for General Purpose), I'm pegging these cartoons to be late Forties to early Fifties productions.

Close on source--being WWII themed and all--but not at all Popeye or even Eugene the Jeep for that matter.

I saw the clip on YouTube, and know the answer, but unfortunately, I can't name the cartoon.

Hint: 1942 black and white Looney Tunes short revolving around what the farm is doing during the war.

Now I know. It's the offscreen narrator and the turtle, from "Wacky Blackout."

Correct, that's my favorite part of that short--that and the dog faking a blackout in order to make out with his girlfriend. This clip has gained some popularity--and notoriety thanks to a similar sounding clip from a web cartoon called Asdfmovie 10 called "Beep Beep, I'm a Sheep."

Oh, Top Cat of the posse of alley cats animated by Hanna-Barbera. Benny being in this case Benny the Ball: the short, rotund cat that acts as Top Cat's sycophant.

Yes, it's Top Cat, from the episode "The $1,000,000 Derby." Good job. :). But I wish you'd describe Benny in a less offensive way.

    Ah, PC, got it.

"What d'ya say? It's happy ending time! Everybody's got a little taste of something, but me! I got nothin'. I'm here with nothin'. Anybody listening? It's like I'm ... what am I, an echo or something? Hello? Hello? Am I talking to, what, hyperspace? Hello, it's me! Nobody 's listening."

Well, since no one else did, I'll provide the answer. It's Hades from "Hercules."

Thanks, OUB. Now here's a set of Mother's Day themed quotes that you probably didn't expect from me:

"Don't pout now, sweetie. When you were born, the doctor told us you were the happiest newborn he'd ever delivered."

"Of course. That was my victory day! The fruition of my deeply laid plans to escape from that ovarian Bastille! Return the device, woman!"

I knew it simply from the way the dialogue flows, this is Lois and Stewie from Family Guy.
