Okay, this is Herman And Katnip, a comedy pair under contract to Paramount Pictures. However, I can't pinpoint which cartoon. I remember seeing it: Katnip thinks he died, and goes for his angel wings. However, Herman poses as Saint Peter, and informs Katnip that his misdeeds have earned him a warm place in the basement. The grate to a heat vent is opened, and the over-stoked furnace emits flames. Katnip is doomed to meet the guy in a red suit, and it's not Santa Claus. You'd think it'd be enormously difficult to convince a cat, having nine lives, that he has died completely ...

Oh, then this has to be peculiar inventor Wallace from Aardman Animation's Wallace And Gromit series. I don't remember this line from their first three productions (A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers, A Close Shave), so this must be their fourth, which involved a bread bakery business. Wallace is a nice enough fellow, but he's not really marriage material. He has Gromit, which works well enough.
