    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Well, the "Fred" part as well as "bronto burgers" point squarely at The Flintstones. And who knows Fred Flintstone better than his wife, Wilma? The only iffy in this one is who Wilma'd be speaking to. The other wife, then, must be her neighbor and confidante Betty Rubble.

OUB, you get a post Labor Day bronto burger for answering correctly. Those quotes are from the episode "Hop Happy," shortly after the families arrive at the Cliffside Picnic Park. Good job. :). Your turn now.

A bronto burger, eh? Is that, like, a one-pounder in today's market? Yum. So, on the topic of yummy munchables:

"Carlotta, my dear, what's for dinner?"
"Oh, you're going to love it. Chef's been fixing his specialty: stuffed crab."

Just as I thought. This is Grimsby and Carlotta from The Little Mermaid.
I hope Ariel didn't eat anybody she knew.

That's exactly who spoke those lines, Glow: Grimsby and Carlotta from Disney's The Little Mermaid. And once we heard that "stuffed crab" part, hijinks with Sebastian were a lock. Good memory, GW, take it away. :)

Easy, it's Bugs Bunny in Slick Hare. "Baby" refers to Humphrey Bogart's date.

Correct, although I highly doubt that Lauren Bacall ("Baby") wanted her rabbit hopping up and down on a plate making catcalls at her.

Yes. The episode in question is called "Clown and Out." I thought the "It" reference of a clown not being a big spider was appropriate since the remake of "It" comes out tomorrow.
Also, this is one of my favorite episodes simply because it's funny as hell.

Thanks, Glowworm. Now here's another set of quotes that's perfectly timed:

"This is just a mild spring zephyr compared to the big wind of '67. Or was it, uh, '76? Oh, well, no matter. Oh, I remember the big blow well."

    "I'll remember this one, too."

I'm going to stay that this is a quote from B.O.B. from Monsters Versus Aliens. He's excited to be outside after years of being cooped up in a secret government facility, and has a peculiar perception of how things go in the real world. My fave quote from B.O.B. is his greeting of the giant robot: "Hello! Welcome to Earth! We are here to destroy you!" Yes, eradication is perfectly acceptable, so long as one is polite about it.
