    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Hint: One thing he could and should have said in this story arc is, "Beware the net that makes you forget."

Oh! The rhyming couplet should have rubbed my thinking deep in a tube of Underdog, but what'd Underdog ever do with apples? Answer: when Simon Bar Sinister brainwashed him with The Forget-Me-Net, Underdog developed amnesia, and was convinced that he did nothing more than sell apples for a living.

Good job, OUB. :). Like William Tell, you shot that apple clean off. It's Underdog all right, who not only lost his memory in that one, but ended up crossdressed for the job! You may go again.

Agreed, lol. :D It's one thing to forget one's identity: that's amnesia. But good Fridge Logic, Em: how exactly does someone forget he's a boy? I mean, there's going to be a reminder every few hours.

Okay, on the subject of genders and problems:

    "There goes our last female."

Uh-oh, it seems a hint is badly needed. Okay, I can do that. Hint: our three intrepid heroes encounter a regiment of these fools. In the space of a few minutes, they make themselves extinct. Too Dumb To Live, indeed.

Yes, it's those dodos from Blue Sky Studios' Ice Age. They start out as a whole regiment, preparing for the coming Ice Age, although all they've accomplished so far is hoard three melons. Sid the sloth tries to reclaim one of those melons, and despite being the goofball of the trio, he succeeds. When goofball Sid can outplay a regiment of dodos, then extinction for dodos is a lock, Sid or no Sid. Good sleuthing, Em. :D

Thanks, OUB. Now for another no-brainer:

"Why do you call him Zazoom?"

"A pull on his tail answers that."

    "Like this?"

    "NO!"

Sounds like three members of the ''Arabian Knights'',Prince Turhan,Raseem the Strong, and Fariik the Magician, from the Banana Splits show. The ''tail'' they speak of belongs to Zazoom the donkey, who turns into a mini tornado once his tail is pulled.Congratulations on finding a quote from a cartoon not seen on these last 125 pages.

Right, Bill. Those quotes are spoken by Fariik and Raseem when they, Turhan, and Zazoom are on their way to help Princess Nida, who also joins them along with Bez. Good job. :). You may post now.

Ah, ha! It's the mouse in, From Hand to Mouse. He keeps saying "sucker" to the lion through out the cartoon.

Thanks! I know this quote gives away one of the talkers, but I had to use this one anyway.

    "What's your name?"
    "Betty Boop."
    "What do you do?"
    "Boop-boop-e-doop (squeak)!"

I've already known this one, didn't have time to answer it though.
It's from the Looney Tunes short "The Honeymousers"
Ralph Crumden and Ned Morton are raiding the refrigerator in the kitchen.
