    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Uh, yeah, wrong tree. Rugrats are children, while these are college boys, and a girl. They fight crime, all three of them.

Of course! I forgot Firestar's true identity is Angelica Jones. So it's Spiderman and Iceman.

Ah yes, this is Spider Man And His Amazing Friends, Firestar (Angelica Jones) and Iceman (Bobby Drake). This episode is titled "Swarm" after a mysterious meteor causes a hive of honeybees to form a collective body dedicated to converting humans into slaves "for the good of the community hive." Kind of what a Bad Boss would want. Good sleuthing, Em. :D

The first ''Big Fats'' that comes to my mind would be escaped convict Big Fats Dynamo, who battled, and then was captured by Atom Ant, much to the surprise of Fats' partners, one of whom I believe came up with that quote.

Thanks! By the way, I suspect this cartoon was referenced in honor of Fats Domino, who recently passed away. Anyway, here's my quote---''Rock,rock,rockin' in the rockin' chair,I don't care if I don't get nowhere''.

This is Quick Draw's son Jr. who takes up the mantle of his father to save a damsel in distress. Later on--all three of them sing this song as they all went to the same college. In the beginning of the short, Jr. also sings this song when his father hands him his guitar.

The speech pattern gave it away. It's Elmer Fudd from "Hare Remover."

Can't do it without the speech pattern--makes Fudd special. Yes, Fudd is playing around with chemicals in "Hare Remover" and needs a rabbit to test his formula on because his poor dog's run off to eat some grass after the last test.

Too easy. This one's Maldor, one of the 13 ghosts of Scooby Doo--and personally one of my favorites due to his unique looking design explaining to Daphne what he did to Princess Esmeralda.

    Here's one.
"Mummy dust to make me old
To shroud my clothe, a black of night
To age my voice, an old hag's cackle
To whiten my hair, a scream of fright
A blast of wind to fan my hate
A thunderbolt to mix it well
    Now begin thy magic spell."

Oh, this is Queen Grimhilde from Disney's Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs, brewing up that regal-regent-into-ugly-crone potion in her castle's laboratory, probably years before Doc Frankenstein codified it. As one wag observed: "Only a woman would concoct something to make herself hideous just so that she can be the fairest in the land."

Not a problem, have all the fun you want. :D Life is short, so do something Bugs-Bunny-y while you have the chance.

That's from a Robert Louis Stevenson poem, "The Swing," but I can't recall hearing it in any cartoons.
