We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Got it. It's Buster Bunny, Babs Bunny, and Plucky Duck from "Tiny Toons: How I Spent My Summer Vacation."

Exactly, this is the Tiny Toons drudging out the last minutes of school at Acme Looniversity, from the feature length production Tiny Toons: How I Spent My Vacation. Curious how Babs Bunny plans to get a golden tan despite being a bunny, covered in fur. Bravo, Em, for tracking this one down. :)

Thanks, OUB. And now for one that I've had at the back of my mind for quite a while:

"Hey there, hi there, ho there. You're as welcome as can be."

"M-i-c-k-e-y M-o-u-s-e. Mickey Mouse! (And Donald Duck!) Forever let us hold our banner high, high, high." This is America's greatest corporate shill, Mickey Mouse, singing part of the The Mickey Mouse Club's opening jingle.

Actually, Jiminy Cricket was the one who sang that line in the syndicated version. Maybe Mickey did sing it in the original network broadcasts, I'm not sure. But good job anyway, so you may post again. :)

Still missing on the details; if I get enough of these close-enoughs, can I trade them in for a cup of coffee?

Anyway, here's one from 1966, courtesy of the National Film Board of Canada.

"Earthlings have done away with the stresses and untidiness of sex.
"The reproductive process takes place in three or four huge breeding centers."

Oh dear, a hint is needed. The last quote is a congratulatory "Well done, Scientists of Mars." Indeed, few people have ever theorized so stupendously wrong; there has to be a Golden Booby Prize for these off-target hypotheses.

Took a while, but I found it. It's the narrator, from "What On Earth!"

Ah yes, that's exactly where the quote comes from, the Narrator (Donald Brittain by name) from the NFB Canada production What On Earth! Mars sent an orbital probe to investigate planet Earth, and the data that came back was hilariously misconstrued that cars were an intelligent species with peculiar social habits. Great research, Emerald; you're up. :)

Yes, that's exactly who it is, Bill. No other cartoon character can make that claim. Good job. :). Your turn now.

Long-shot guessing here, since that's my specialty. Fry and Cuthbert from Futurama, when one of Professor Farnsworth's quantum thingies makes a series of wormholes in the temporal dimension. These float around the Planet Express office as a break-room hazard.

Oh, I know this one! Thanks for the clue about the ducks. It's Quasi and his girlfriend Anita from the really trippy "Quasi at the Quackadillo." Not exactly a nice girlfriend, Anita tricks Quasi into going down the hole.

Yeah, I discovered this one during college. It's really trippy and the animator Sally Cruikshank was behind a lot of the really cool Sesame Street animations when I was a kid.
"Hoskins, I wish there were words to express my contempt for you."
