    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Heart's content, eh? As in Valentine's Day? Okay, hopeless romantic, here y' go:

"It's better this way. And for the first time since he met her, he will be happy."

Hint: this could almost be a eulogy for a broken-hearted fellow, waiting for the train to nowhere. He gets some company, at least.

At last I found it. It's Jerry, from the short "Blue Cat Blues."

Bravo! Yes, this is Jerry Mouse, observing how just one pretty kitty could make poor Tom Cat slowly self-destruct. At least Tom has enough left to make room for Jerry when that mouse gets a dose of the same medicine. Blue Cat Blues, a fine cautionary tale for Valentine's Day.

Thanks, OUB. Now for these quotes:

"That looks like an Olympic torch to me. Your husband could be an Olympic athlete who will go on to have a great acting career!"

    "It's a dustpan."

Hint: Little girl who plays saxophone, and another female character.

Okay, the little girl with the saxophone is surely Lisa Simpson. And yes, I know her name isn't Shirley. That leaves another female character, clearly married to a husband, and one that isn't too proud or too slobby to use a dustpan. Postulating from that, I deduce it's Maude Flanders, while she yet lived. Ned Flanders is exactly the type to willingly wield a dustpan, and he's shown some acting chops during an in-universe production of A Streetcar Named Desire. Therefore: Lisa Simpson and Maude Flanders from The Simpsons by Gracie Films, final answer.

Actually, the other speaker was Wanda, but I'll give you partial credit, since you got Lisa right. Good job. :). Next quote's all yours.

Nifty, another near-enough. :) And while it's still within romantic-sighing distance of Saint Valentine's Day, let me field this one:

"Thank you. That's the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me."
[power smooch (or the most awesome CPR ever)]

    "Gleek!"

Oh dear, everyone's forgotten the half-court power kiss that Lola Bunny gave to a squished Bugs Bunny in Space Jam. The romance has gone from this world. Shall I try again?

Well, guess I'll have to post the next set of quotes:

"Did you see that? It's a girl."

    "I know it's a girl."

Of course, I can do this one. It's Lumiere and Cogsworth seeing Belle in their castle from Beauty and the Beast. As I've stated before, this film was one was one of my very first movie theater experiences as a child.

Yeah, the answer dawned on me this morning truthfully.
Now here's one that's downright mean but I love it.
"Most people your age die. Why won't you?"

Clue: a side segment of an early 90's cartoon of a superhero who got his powers through the internet. This John Cleese-esque superhero has just delivered a savage burn to his mother-in-law.

Never heard of him, but I found the answer. It's Lord Bravery, from "Freakazoid."

Yes, Lord Bravery was a British superhero--but he never really got to do any actual superhero stunts. The humor was very Monty Pythonesque such as a short in which he attempts to rescue a man from the sewer--but it turns into a rather sarcastic and lengthy argument between the two before he finally attempts to rescue him. He got two shorts and afterwards was seen from time to time on the show.
This is his response to his mother-in-law after he brings the tea to her and she tells him he forgot the sugar.
Freakzoid was one of those shows I never really saw much as a kid, but watched some episodes with my boyfriend and friends while in college. I've been recently watching some again and it's still absolutely hilarious--and random.

Thanks, Glowworm. Now I've got one that expresses the way I feel right now:

"I'm tired, and I'm hungry. And my tail's froze. And my nose is froze. And my ears are froze. And my toes are froze."
