    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Thanks, Salty. Now for a quote that hasn't been done to death:

"Hey, man, you're ugly! And you're uglier than him! And you're Ugly, Part Three! Hey, you're Revenge Of The Ugly!"

That's the taunting of Ignacio Alonzo Julio Frederico de Tito the chihuahua from Oliver And Company, sniping at the dobermans Roscoe and Desoto during their pursuit of Fagan and company. The two dobermans cannot match the speed of Fagan's makeshift vehicle, and gradually lose ground. That is, until Sykes joins the chase in his ominous V-8 sedan, looking very much like the product of Satan Motors Corp.

"Take the wheel?" Well, I know somebody that really wants to take the reins.

"A heavy tax shall be levied on all parasites and sponges, such as the elderly, the infirm, and especially little children."

Oops, shame on me for going this long. Here's a dandy hint: the character's voice was provided by the late Vincent Price, being deliciously wicked as only he can.

Can't let this one go to Unguessed Land. It's Professor Ratigan, from "The Great Mouse Detective."

Yes, this is a quote from Professor Ratigan, arch-nemesis of The Great Mouse Detective, Basil of Baker Street. This villain has succeeded in replacing the Queen with a robot impostor, thereby elevating himself to ruling consort. The heavy tax edict is one of many "I'm in charge" proclamations that Ratigan foists on his subjects. Good on you, Em, for keeping this gleefully wicked character out of Unguessed Land. :D

    "He talked me into it."

    "I'm just a loud-mouthed schnook."

Oh, this'd be Barnyard Dog being dragged away to dinner by Henery Hawk. The li'l raptor isn't sure what a chicken looks like, so Foghorn Leghorn and Barnyard Dog point him in conflicting directions. Ultimately, Henery comes away with Dog, on the theory that anything edible counts as bagging a chicken.

Actually, those quotes were from Henery Hawk and Foghorn Leghorn himself, from "The Foghorn Leghorn."

Hinting time: after a wild ride through city sewers that felt like the Flume of Doom, the main character wants another go. His mother, however, abhors near-death experiences, and asks the heavens how she could have spawned such a daredevil. They all fit in the sewers because they're much smaller than humans.

Oh, dear, I'm bad at picking these things. :( This is Fievel Mousekewitz and his mother from the sequel Fievel Goes West. They narrowly escape some marauding cats that drove them into the city's sewer system, including a terrifying spillway. For Fievel, this was an E-ticket ride; for Mama, it was a near-death experience. Somehow, most of the mice aggregate in a pool of sewage, where a marionette gives them a sales pitch to Green River out west.

Okay, this might be a better one, since the entire gag hinges on it.

    "Hepl?"
    "Oops, spelled it wrong."

George Jetson and ,I believe,Spaceley's son,as Space Scouts, who became lost while on a hike, using a signal gun to spell out the word ''Help'',which slightly malfunctioned.

Absolutely right, Bill. These quotes are from The Jetsons episode in which George Jetson gets assigned by his boss to keep an eye on Spacely's son while his Scout troop goes on an excursion on the moon. Fortunately, the boy came prepared: he has a flare gun that can spell out "help" in the moon's thin atmosphere one letter at a time. He came extra prepared when his first effort misspells the word as "hepl" by including a strike-through cartridge. The Crazy Prepared part is that last cartridge that appends the corrected "lp" in one shot. Must be a common misspelling to have a specialized cartridge like that.
