    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

No, it wasn't him. Remember what I said about the author. Cyborg wasn't written by anyone named Peabody.

Guess this quote was unfair, so I'll post the answer now: It's Martin Kanine, from "Fido Beta Kappa."

He was sent off to dog college, where he learned scientific principles, and applied them. When I saw Martin Caidin was the author of Cyborg, I thought of this cartoon dog, not realizing his name was actually a spoof of Martin Kane, Private Eye. To make up for this, I pass the next quote to whoever wants it.

    Ok, I'll take it.

"Okay, sweetheart, what about that rhyme we learned? "We see the undertow; and we say..."

    "Let's go."

"No, no. It's: "Heck no!" Okay? Let's try it again."

Hint: This is a flashback of a character when she was a baby.

Second hint: This character has short term memory loss.

Guess it's up to me to supply the answer. It's Dory and her parents.

Yes, that's Dory's parents trying to get her to remember to stay away from the undertow.

Thanks, Salty. Now for these quotes:

"Touch that clock and you can never come back."

    "Shut up."

Since no one wants to supply the answer, I will. It's Whippett Angel, AKA Annabelle, and Carface Carruthers, from "All Dogs Go To Heaven."
TBH, I don't know why I keep picking bad quotes. I pass the next turn to someone who can post a good one.

That wasn't a bad quote, really, Em. For some reason, the "New Post" Alert never flagged me that anything new in this thread had been added. As a fan of Don Bluth, I'd've dinged this one instantly. Now, if you want a bad quote, I'll field this one:

"Hey, guys: I think they sell cigars in here."

Uh-oh, better give out a hinty-winty. The line is spoken by a non-human male character in a mostly human world. He's exploring a place he's never been, and clearly has not yet had the "birds-and-bees" talk yet. Those aren't cigars.

Oh I know this one alright! This is from one of the earlier Cow and Chicken episodes "The Girl's Bathroom." Chicken, Flem and Earl want to know what's inside the girls room at school, so they sneak in at night to find out--or rather, Chicken finds out while his friends stand guard.
Chicken discovers a Tampon machine in the bathroom (Let's be honest here, that show was NEVER very subtle about these things.) and reports his findings to his friends. Flem responds with "I knew it!"

That's exactly who and where the quote comes from, Glowworm; bravo for that. Yes, Chicken went on a Secret Mission to find out what exactly goes on in a girls' room. The way girls go into these places in gaggles, Chicken figured there were gladiator games or beauty parlors or something else that's awesome in there. I have to laugh at Feiss's depiction of that center commode with the arch of shower heads and rotary buffing pads around it. These are girls, not automobiles; the car wash principle won't fly in there, as no girl on Earth would go near such an over-engineered contraption. So, this is Chicken of David Feiss Cow And Chicken series on Cartoon Network. Glowworm has control of the board. :D

Cow and Chicken was able to sneak in a lot of innuendos into their show--at least until the infamous "Buffalo Biker Gals" came along. That one got banned.
Anyhow, while we're on inappropriate things...
"So then he says, I know this suit is expensive, baby but at my apartment, it's 100% off!"
"She tells better jokes than you do!"

Another hint--the main character telling the joke is trying to fit in at her new job by becoming one of the guys--which is rather difficult for her given that she's female--and not even human.

Yes. This is Purl telling a rather naughty joke to her fellow employees.

Unlike most Pixar shorts, this one actually contains a swear word and some dirty jokes. It's awesome.
