The Cartoon Quote Game...

Correct-amundo, this is Gadget from Disney Television's Chip And Dale's Rescue Rangers series. She'll occasionally devise a method to resolve a problem, only to have that problem resolve itself, or become much worse. Either way, her "solution" becomes obsolete, thus the quote that negates her idea. Good brick, Em, much better'n mine.

"Bob is tall. So what? Tall isn't everything. Short is pretty good. So is vanilla."

Hint: An animated character from a PBS show that premiered two years after "Sesame Street."

Okay, that points squarely at The Electric Company, which is also a Children's Television Workshop production. I can't imagine who "Bob" is; there's Bob from Sesame Street, but that's a whole 'nother property. However, from the context, Bob is tall, which would be remarked upon by someone shorter, significantly shorter. There are the Short Circus troupe on the show, so I'm thinking it's Buddy from the SCT that's grousing this quote.

Close, but no cigar. Keep in mind that the Short Circus kids were live action, just like the show's veteran actors.

Of course, but it's been quite a while since I've seen The Electric Company. Quite a long while, as I'm a derelict old grunk these days. *shrug*

Final hint: This guy also hated to hear "I am cute very," and "I very am cute."

I don't deserve this; a Bugs Bunny quote should be automatic, like hiccups or taxes. But I found one that's humorous and much less dated, so ...

Ah, could this possibly be Knuckles and Amy, from "Sonic Boom?"

Well, so far, I haven't hit on any mention of Swiss cheese in that series. However, everything else lines up nicely: the first and third lines are spoken by a male of significant body mass but substandard intellect. The second line is likewise spoken by a female with a trim physique and commendable common sense, usually. Thing is, the Funny Animal characters I have in mind aren't an echidna and a hedgehog; they're much less esoteric.

I believe this is Richard and Nicole, from The Amazing World of Gumball.

That belief is confirmed: this is Richard and Nicole Watterson from The Amazing World of Gumball by Ben Bocquelet. The Wattersons are at the food court, where the cashier repeats their order that includes 47 cheeseburgers. Nicole, shocked, asks, "Richard! Forty-seven?" Then come the lines I cited. <facetious mode> Yeah, Richard, those holes subtract a lot of fat and calories. </facetious mode>
