We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

That question could only come from Oogie Boogie, who has Santa Claus in his clutches, poised to send the poor fellow to his doom. Oogie puts a lot of faith in his pair of dice, especially when he "edits" a poor roll. From Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Sweet dreams.

Aw, that's not nice. I'd better think up a Good Guy quote. Oh, this'll do:

"Whither doest thou command me, O Master?"

Found it with no problems. It's Gorbash, from "The Flight Of Dragons."

Yup, that's a line from Gorbash the dragon, speaking to Carolinus the Green Wizard. Gorbash in this instance from Rankin Bass Productions' The Flight Of Dragons is serving as a flying taxi, taking Carolinus to a council of wizards. This line even occurs in the animated film's trailer.

Thanks, OUB. Now let's see about this one:

"Chick a boom, chick a boom, don't you just love it? Chick a boom, chick a boom, don't you just love it? Chick a boom, chick a boom, don't you just love it? Chick a boom. Chick a boom, boom, boom."

I'll leave it to others to judge how nice I am, but I do recognize the quote as song lyrics from the Groovie Goolies, which also hit the Top 40 charts covered by a group named Daddy Dewdrop(whoa, starting to sound like Casey Kasem here).

Oh, well, that decides things right there. Folks need to see if a quote has been used or not, so I'd better post a public Rich Text File pronto. It's here, in my Deviant Art dumping ground: Quotes by oneuglybunny on DeviantArt.

Krads, I know exactly which cartoon this is from, just not the name of it. Tweety gets loose in the lab of Doctor Jekyll, and hides from Sylvester in a bottle of his monster formula. The result is predictable: a hulking monstrosity of a canary. At one point, Sylvester captures the normal-sized bird, and puts him between two slices of bread. While Sylvester is looking in a cabinet for some ketchup, Tweety mutates into monster form. Sylvester turns back to his canary sandwich, speaking the line quoted, only to see too late the horrible development.

I think the title of this one was ''Hyde and Go Tweet". Freleng loved to parody the Jekyll and Hyde story, didn't he?

Well, if Friz Freleng is going to turn the Jekyll-Hyde mechanic into comedy gold, then he's certainly welcome to it, and the cartoon world is a better place for the Freleng touch. :D
