We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Thanks, OUB, and indeed it was. Now for a Black Friday quote:

"Why do I go to these bargain sales?"

No googling, straight guesswork. I'll say Al, the honcho behind Al's Toy Barn from Toy Story 2. He's asking himself this while nosing through Andy's Mom's yard sale.

Nope. Here's a hint: Her hubby's a stretch of the imagination, and her bro's a literal hottie.

Well, this has to be Marvel Comics' Susan Storm Richards, also known as The Invisible Girl. Gantray-Lawrence animated them in the Sixties, and Hanna-Barbera animated three of the Four in the Seventies, before Marvel Productions was founded. The curious thing about the Hanna-Barbera series is that, at the time of production, Johnny Storm, a/k/a The Human Torch, had already been leased out to another studio, so H-B couldn't use him; they substituted the cute but annoying robot Herbie to complete the foursome. So, if the clue includes Johnny Storm, this must be the Invisible Girl from the Grantray-Lawrence Fantastic Four series.

You're right about it being Sue Storm Richards, OUB. But you got the studios wrong. Hanna-Barbera animated them in the 60's, and Depatie-Freleng in the '70's. Grantray-Lawrence never touched the source material. Still, good job. :)

Oh, that's right. Canada's Gantray-Lawrence had the Spider Man license. Amazing that Marvel didn't let them have a go at the Fantastic Four, since they handled Spider Man so well. *shrug* Media moguls, what can y' do?

Do I know of any sell-y quotes, inspired by Black Friday sales? There's a few, but they tend to mention a main character by name. I'll try one anyway.

"... the cat of tomorrow. No feeding, no fussing, and no fur. Clean, efficient dependable." Purchased through the Acme catalog, presumably.

It's Mammy two-shoes who is reading the card, that came with the robot cat. From Push-Button Kitty.

That's exactly who said the quote, from the document that came with Mechano. I don't know about you, but my wife would obliterate any device that sawed her mahogany coffee table in two. Good memory, SB.

This one's easy for me. It's Bugs Bunny talking to Hermann Goring from "Herr Meets Hare" While he's doing this, he's biting down on one of Goring's medals.

Little John keeps saying that throughout Rabbit Hood, until at the end when Robin Hood himself finally shows up.

Correct. Of course, Bugs doesn't really need Robin Hood to rescue him.

Thanks, Salty. Now for one that's not quite Christmasy, but not exactly Cyber Monday themed either:

    "What if I refuse?"

"You're right near the North Pole. What if the Earth's magnetic field suddenly gets... a lot more powerful?"

"Wait! Ow! Don't- Stop! The magnetic field will erase my data!"
