You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Well, that makes it much easier. The female spirit of the Earth is Gaia, and the female mad scientist is Doctor Blight. The doctor's self-aware computer is MAL, a rough homage of Kubrick's HAL-9000. The series therefore must be Captain Planet And The Planeteers, a Turner Animation production. Most likely, this is the first season episode "Polluting By Computer," which has Doc Blight and MAL reclassify federal parks as waste dumps, and miscast the Planeteers as domestic terrorists. Gaia shows up to compel MAL to undo these changes, using the cybernetic equivalent of an ear-pull.

You got the characters and the show right, but not the episode. These quotes are actually from the two-parter "Two Futures," in which Wheeler makes a decision that threatens the Earth.....

Still, you get the next turn. Good job. :)

Close enough, eh? Okay, I tried to thunk up a holiday-themed one, but nothing clicked. There are two characters that haven't been quoted so far, which means it's fair's-fair time.

"... and for a computer, you stink!"
"Who said I was a computer? I'm an automatic pop-up toaster. And I'll prove it."
    [flurry of toast]

Yep, that's the one. David DePatie and "Friz" Freleng created The Ant And The Aardvark series, which ran alongside the Pink Panther. Aardvark buys a machine that can out-think an ant, but the device turns out to be a toaster with a doozy of a user interface. These lines come at the end of the cartoon. Good research, Salty. :)

Okay, at first, my thoughts ran to that Arthur Rankin + Jules Bass production of Frosty The Snowman, where the inept and selfish magician keeps trying to reclaim his magic hat from the title character. However, though the fellow himself is definitely underhanded, he manages to bumble short of patently Evil. He'd certainly never qualify himself as such.

No, this has to be a Card-Carrying Villain, one of those that's Evil and Lovin' It. Without googling, I'm going to say it's Doctor Facilier from The Princess And The Frog, blithely explaining why he has so few qualms about his blatant wickedness.

I'll go ahead and say your first thought was correct OUB. It was Professor Hinkle, the magician from Frosty The Snowman.

He had a name? Glory be, it's been a long while since I've seen that one, back when television sets had vacuum tubes. And he was a professor? One of those badly-dressed college legacies rambling theories in ivy-covered halls? Golly, I'd always pictured him as doing children's birthday parties as a desperate effort to keep from driving cab for a living. Huh.

"Seriously, what do you see in that guy?"
    "He makes me laugh."
