The "dear brother" part is a dead giveaway: the first line is the boastful crowing of Alexander Cabot III, attempting then failing laughably to mount a burro. The response comes from his cynical sister Alexandra, commenting on Alex's substandard technique. I'm too lazy to go looking through the complete set, so I'll conjecture the lines come from The Jumpin' Jupiter Affair episode of Josie And The Pussycats, and stand a 1-in-16 chance of being right.

And right you were, OUB, about the quotes and the episode. That was one of several times in the series that a real person was mentioned. Good job. . You may go again.
