    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Thanks, OUB. Now how about this quote:

"Do you see this finger? I cut it opening a can of stupid dog food for your stupid supper. I hope you appreciate it. Besides that, it wasn't a finger. It was my THUMB!"

Sounds like Charlie Brown complaining to Snoopy.

Yes, and he did just that in "Snoopy Come Home," which turns 45 this year. Good job, Glowworm. :).

Thanks. Never saw any of the Peanuts movies (aside from the Blue Sky one) but I've read enough comics to know that Charlie Brown has complained to Snoopy about fixing his supper on more than one occasion.

It's from a short based on the three little pigs--but dogs are substituted for the main characters.

Think I've got it,the ''Three Little Pups'', starring Droopy and his two brothers. The quote comes from Avery's Southern wolf,as the big ,bad dogcatcher.

Exactly. This results after the Southern wolf changes his pants and pets the still suspended bulldog on the pair he hangs up.

Thanks, Bill. Now for a set of quotes from one that hasn't been tapped yet:

"Sir, I have seen you go through similar phases in 2016 and 2012 and 2008 and 2005 and 1997 and 1995 and 1992 and 1989 and that weird one from 1966."

    "I have aged phenomenally."

This sounds suspiciously like all the iterations of Batman over the decades, so I'll say the first line is faithful butler Alfred speaking to Bruce Wayne / Batman. The Caped Crusader has gone through some changes across many adaptations, but implacable Alfred remains the immutable constant in all of them.

Right again, OUB. Good job. :). These quotes are from the newest iteration of Batman from the block, "The Lego Batman Movie." Oddly, none of the Dark Knight's animated series or movies are mentioned. You get the next quote.

Yes, this is the mighty sailor man himself, Popeye. He's in Arabia (Bagdad, possibly?) and has been handed a menu printed in Arabic, normally read right-to-left. Popeye takes one look at it and mutters this line under his breath. You'd think someone who's traveled the globe so extensively would've picked up a few cultural clues, but nope. Not ol' Popeye. Good pinpointing, Salty. :)

Hint: This radio announcer is not really an announcer. He's playing a trick on his owner.
