    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, now with 20% more ongoing.

Apparently, a lot of viewers that night kept replaying that scene wondering "Did he really just say that?"

Replaying the scene.... Why didn't I think of that? :p

As for the clues, I know who it is but I'll need to hold off again.

Ok, the answer is Sariatu, who is Kubo's mother from Kubo and the Two Strings.

OK, I think this one should be easy to do.

I am the head chef of a famous restaurant.
While the restaurant's late owner was all about quality, I was just for the profits.
I was obligated to hire a bumbling fool.

This is that sneaky, distrustful Skinner, who took charge of the famous restaurant Gusteau's upon the (suspect) demise of its founder. Skinner is compelled to hire Linguini to the kitchen staff as a stipulation of Gusteau's estate. From Pixar's 2007 feature Ratatouille.

    Sweet. :) And continuing our S trend, I'm picking a sort-of S one.

    1) This character appears just once to date in a completely animated feature film. She survives to the end of the story, so she could recur.

    2) This character is female, and human-shaped; whether she qualifies as true human is debatable. She looks good enough to percolate the hero's hormones, that's for sure.

    3) No shrinking violet is she, no sir. When danger threatens her world, or a neighboring one, this character suits up, smacks in a fresh magazine and gets busy.

    Intermediate clues time.

    4) It could be argued that this character's world isn't real. But from this character's perspective, it's real enough, as is the growing danger that threatens it.

    5) How to describe this character? Well, if John Wayne were a tall, lithe platinum blonde girl: yeah, that's her.

    6) Happy ending movie: this character and one of the Good Guys get married. Awwww. *love bubbles*

    Got one!
    1. I'm the father of a classic cartoon character.
    2. In this short, both the character and his prey are shown as babies.
    3. I tell my son he cannot speak until he catches his prey. Seeing as he still hasn't caught it yet, he still hasn't spoken.

Ah, Cage E Coyote, father of Wile E Coyote, from the Tiny Toons productions of Amblimation. Tony Cervone was lead animator for these, and he'd later jump ship to Warner Brothers proper to launch The Looney Tunes Show.

Almost correct--except that the character in question is from a 2000 Looney Tunes short entitled "Little Go Beep" Baby Wile E. is sent out to catch a roadrunner and can't speak until he does so. Yet he has spoken quite a bit in the past in a few shorts.

Oh, I got it right? I saw "almost correct" and figured I'd glerped another one. Presuming that "close enough" is in effect:

    1) This character occurs in a regularly televised animated series that's no longer in production.

    2) This character is an Action Girl, and is agile enough to avoid being captured by baddies, usually.

    3) While this character is a blonde, she is not dumb. In fact, she has one powerful brain.

    Intermediate clues time.

    4) This character is not human. She does everything that humans do, such as live in a room in midtown, ride a hover-bike, bring home Chinese take-out, et cetera; but she does quite bit more than most people do.

    5) Most of the incidental characters in her world are human. This character is an oddity, but she's at peace with that. It's a "play the hand you've been dealt" philosophy.

    6) Much of this character's move set and agility come from cheerleader training ... that didn't get used, sadly.

Well, I checked the list, and she wasn't on it, so I'll say Lexi Bunny, from "Loonatics Unleashed."
