    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

    Three more clues:

    4. My town is the title of the animated series.

    5. My place of business is a mystery shack.

    6. My series officially ended early in 2016, even though reruns still air on Disney XD.

I knew this one from the beginning but waited to see if someone else would catch it.
This is Stan Pines AKA Grunkle Stan from Gravity Falls. I've only seen one episode but my boyfriend and friends loved the show. I have a stuffed Waddles.

    Here we go
    1. I appear once in a educational World War II short originally meant for soldiers.
    2. Although I am a notorious outcast and fugitive hiding out from the world, I'm shown in a surprisingly sympathetic light.
    3. I'm compared to a murderous woman--but I'm actually a rather common bloodsucking insect.

Correct, it's Anopheles Annie. Despite being a bloodsucking mosquito, she's strangely portrayed in a sympathetic light here. Also, they somehow managed to make mosquitoes look sexy. ;)

OK, I did some digging and found something.

I'm a prince, and I'm very board with my dads humor.
Everything on my planet is supposed to be funny.
A ship crashed on my planet, and the occupants look like pilgrims. (correction, they look like farmers)

    Here's some more.

This is like the Thanksgiving story, but in space.
You can see this show on YouTube.
The studio also did another space theme holiday: A Cosmic Christmas.

A Cosmic Christmas was from Nelvana, who also did this show.
The word Thanksgiving is in the title.
This show is sometimes known by another name.

Thanks, Salty. Now for these clues:

    1. My movie opens this year the day before Thanksgiving, even though it has nothing to do with the holiday.

    2. The title character is my great-grandma.

    3. During my quest to become a successful musician, I discover that my idol is in fact the villain.

    Last three clues:

    4. I meet my ancestors.

    5. I'm accompanied by a dog, just like any other boy.

    6. I'm the first Hispanic hero of a Pixar film.

Ah, from the upcoming feature Coco, which revolves roughly around the Day of the Dead, this must be Miguel Riviera. Somehow, this young 'un gets the idea that he's a descendant of a legendary flamenco guitarist, and attempts to worm his way into a talent contest.

Sweet. :) So, Em fields a recent character about to debut, I'm going to go with an oldie.

    1) This character first appeared in a cartoon short, and soon recurred in further productions.

    2) Though he walks upright and wears clothes, this character is not human. He does all the human-y stuff, like smoking, drinking and bragging, but he's not human.

    3) Much like Beans the cat for Warner Brothers Animation, this character predates his studio's figurehead by about three years. Eclipsed by the n00b, arrrr!

    Intermediate clues time.

    4) Though he has a massive jaw, like Popeye or Mister Incredible, he's not a good guy. Though, in fairness, he's only been a Card Carrying Villain a few times. So he's a bad-ish guy.

    5) Despite his flaws, he has managed to snag a wife, and has two young 'uns. Good job, father.

    6) Curiously, despite his name, he sometimes lacks his distinctive feature. Most of his early cartoons make the attribute noticeable, while later appearances dispensed with it. That, or he's been fitted with a better prosthetic.

Oh, it more than could be, it is. This is Disney's Peg-Leg Pete, created in 1925 as a bearlike character with a peg leg, that would change from leg to leg in some shorts. His earliest cartoon is one of the Alice Comedies: Alice Solves The Puzzle. Once Mickey Mouse took a foothold in 1928, Pete was refitted into a hulking cat-man, sometimes with a peg leg, sometimes not. His earliest cartoon in this form is Steamboat Willie, wherein he's the captain. Good tracking, Saltyboot, take the Board. :D

Thanks OUB, but I don't think I'll be able to post a character anytime soon. Waaaaay too busy this week. I'll give it to whoever wants it.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
