    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, now with 20% more ongoing.

Thanks, Salty. Now for these mystery characters:

    1. Our story begins in a department store window.

    2. Although we're lovers, we're definitely not human.

    3. In fact, we're just two pieces of head gear.

    Ah, a no brainer.

It's Johnny Fedora and Alice Bluebonnet.

    Thanks! Here's what I found.

I am innovative. Unlike everyone else in this movie.

    I wear a belt that's alive.

I try to warn a family about their impending doom.

    Ok, more clues.

I was first introduced to the daughter.

I showed her what fire is.

    Her Dad is very overprotective.

Well, can't let this go Unguessed. This would be Guy from The Croods by Dreamworks Animation. Guy is an adventurous lad from another family that meets Eep, the daughter of Grug. Grug is wary of the outside world, since civilization hasn't been invented yet.

Yes, you're correct! The answer is indeed Guy.

Up and away? News flash: I'm as flight capable as a brick. But I found someone from an animated feature that's worthwhile.

    1) This character has appeared only once to date in an animated feature film. He survives to the end of the story, so he could recur.

    2) This character is also a Boss. Fortunately, he has a nicer aspect than Cosmo Spacely or Dick Dastardly. Until you cross him, that is. All bets are off after that.

    3) One of this character's employees takes over the reins of the company after this Boss character gets sent to prison.

    Intermediate clues time.

    4) Although there are humans in this universe, they're all off somewhere else. This character and his associates have a place all to themselves.

    5) As usual for hidden villains, this mastermind has a facade that seems above reproach, while keeping a right-hand minion of dubious integrity on staff.

    6) Unusual name this character has: it would almost qualify for The Addams Family, except it'd be the most ineffectual capital device ever.

    Cupcake clues time.

    7) This is a Pixar Animation character.

    8) He's the Corrupt Corporate Executive of a utility company.

    9) Six legs, five eyes, and four brass buttons on his vest.

Well, I know who it is but I won't be able to set up a character this weekend. So I'll wait and see if someone else posts the answer.

Yes, this is Henry J. Waternoose, the Chief Executive of Monsters, Inc. Jimmy Sullivan takes over when Waternoose is arrested. Randall was his right-hand minion. Bravo, Saltyboot, you're up! :)

OK, finally had time to put something together.

I am part human and part monster.

For a while, it looks like I didn’t inherit any of my Mom’s monster abilities.

That is, until the end of the movie. Then you see lots of it.

    Next set of clues:

    I debuted in a sequel.

Also, a 3rd movie came out earlier this year.

My family business is a hotel.

Found it. It's Dennis, Johnny and Mavis's son, from "Hotel Transylvania 2."

Thanks, Salty. Now to go into untapped territory again:

    1. Like everyone else in the animated series, I start out in a live action film.

    2. I'm a very close friend of the title character.

    3. I need only say his name three times.

Oh, this one I know: it's Beetlejuice, adapted from the live action film with Michael Keaton (pre-Batman) in the title role. Directed by the demented Tim Burton. Made into an animated series by Nelvana Studios of Canada about the haywire specter and the ghoulish Lydia. So this must be Lydia the goth girl.
