    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Wait a sec--of course--this is Thrax, the deadly virus from Osmosis Jones. Also, why did they have to make such a murderous, sadistic, violent virus sexy?

Yes, this is Thrax, the Red Death from the partly-animated feature Osmosis Jones. Why the sexy look? Well, folks are more likely to interfere with someone ugly doing something, even if its legit, because a guy that's ugly must have no clue what he's doing. Thus, the reverse is "true:" a good-looking guy must know exactly what he's doing, so he should be left alone to do it, because beauty = goodness. It's a horribly flawed theory, but it tends to prove itself more often than not. Good research, Glowworm. :)

I think another reason Thrax is sexy is because Lawrence Fishburne does a great job voicing him.
    Anyhow, I've got one.
    1. I'm the solution to a woman's empty nest syndrome.
    2. Yet there's something a bit disturbing about this because I'm not human.
    3. In fact, I'm generally something that gets eaten, not brought up as a child.

Way too easy. It's the Baozi dumpling from the Pixar short "Bao."

Yes it's Bao, from the Pixar short of the same name. To be perfectly honest--while I understood the short--it still got really messed up near the end when she ate him. Then when the actual son shows up--who looks EXACTLY like the dumpling, it gets almost confusing because then you suddenly realize that the dumpling baby never existed to begin with and it was all a hallucination of sorts.

Thanks, Glowworm. Now for a totally untapped character:

    1. I'm named after a famous human inventor.

    2. I invent something that I eventually end up trapped in.

    3. My opponents are a pair of rag dolls who just happen to be siblings.

    Three more clues:

    4. I previously had to deal with some well-known fairy tale characters.

    5. My voice actor voiced a ghost in another classic Christmas cartoon.

    6. In the 1970's, he played a live action Mentor.

I was going to leave this to someone else, but I can't leave this one hanging.
This is Alexander Graham Wolf from Raggedy Ann and and Andy: The Great Santa Claus Caper.

Exactly right, Glowworm. Good job. :). Your turn now. As for the clues:

    1. He's named after Alexander Graham Bell.

    2. His device is meant to make toys unbreakable, but his plans backfire when he gets trapped by it.

    3, Self-explanatory.

    4. He had run-ins with Red Riding Hood and the Three Little Pigs.

    5. He was voiced by Les Tremayne, who'd previously voiced The Ghost Of Christmas Present in "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol."

    6. Tremayne is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Mentor in the live action "Shazam" series.

Thanks, I'm familiar with this one thanks to ChadRoco's Christmas special reviews. My favorite bit: calling Alexander a Wile E. Coyote ripoff--which isn't entirely wrong as this is a special created by Chuck Jones himself.
Also, I'm familiar with Les Tremayne playing a charismatic jewel thief on an episode of the Andy Griffith Show who tricks Barney into tracking down the house detective--whom he mistakenly thinks is the thief. Tremayne is after a woman's jewels.
Sorry for not posting earlier, been a bit busy with work and whatnot.

    1. I play a small role in this sequel to a movie.
    2. While my line of work is less than savory, I'm actually not the villain in this film.
    3. The number one rule when addressing me? Whatever you do, don't look at my little brother. It makes him nervous.

Indeed. This is Double Dan from the new Disney Sequel Wreck it Ralph: Ralph Breaks the Internet.
    1. Unlike other new characters such as Shank or Yes, Double Dan's role is rather small.
    2. Double Dan lives in the Dark Web and creates viruses for a living. Yet, he's not necessarily evil, as this is simply his job and even warns Ralph that as long as the virus is contained within Slaughter Race and he isn't stupid, the virus won't actually harm or kill anyone.
    3. Ralph is warned by JP Spamly before entering Dan's den, not to look at his little brother. Easy enough on paper, but Double Dan's "brother" is basically a conjoined twin--or rather a tumor with a face on the upper part of his body. Dan does not like it when others speak unkindly of his brother. It doesn't exactly help that Ralph keeps making Freudian slips on seeing said brother.

Thanks, Salty. Now for another untapped one:

    1. I'm big, strong, and four-legged.

    2. I accompany the title character along with two others, only to be bought by a friendly trio.

    3. I'm named after a Biblical hero mentioned in a song about the walls tumbling down.

    Three more clues:

    4. My special is the second one based on a known Christmas song.

    5. My fellow animals are a donkey and a lamb.

    6. My human companion comes to hate the human race due to a family tragedy.

    Last three clues:

    7. My special is now 50 years old.

    8. It's the first to be narrated by a woman.

    9. The narrator doesn't appear onscreen, but she's credited as the storyteller.
