    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, ongoing-ier.

    4. Yes, this is one of those movies where the father dies prematurely. His son blames me for the incident.
5.Even though I am human, I never speak.
    6. I act more like a dog, heck I'm even given a dog's name.

Judy Hopps, who leaves the family farm in Bunnyburrows behind to pursue a career in law enforcement in Zootopia. Of course, her first assignment is parking duty, essentially a meter maid. She inveigles Nick Wilde into helping her trace the movements of Edward Otterton, who'd gone missing. Nick was the next-to-last person to have seen Otterton before he disappeared. Although, Judy returns to the family farm after her disastrous press conference creates a social rift in the city, and she blames herself for "breaking" Zootopia instead of helping its citizens.

Absolutely right, OUB. Judy Hopps it is, and for all those reasons. Good job. :). Now it's your turn again..

Oh dear, tough act to follow. Maybe I can aim for a percentage of Judy's coolness.

    1) This character occurs in a regularly televised animated cartoon that's no longer in production.

    2) As his boss often reminds him, this character applied for his job, hazards and all.

    3) One might presume that this character graduated college, since he has a monogram sweater. Then again, the initial could be an aid to this character's flighty boss to help him remember the underling's name.

I know the answer, but I'll wait a bit to see if someone else gets it first.

This is Fred, the loyal, yet sometimes clueless sidekick to Super Chicken. "You knew the job was dangerous when you took it, Fred."

Yes, indeed, this is Fred the lion, faithful but melancholy sidekick to Super Chicken by Jay Ward Productions. It kind of begs the question, though: if Fred answered a want ad to get his job, such as it is, wouldn't that tend to give away the secret identity of Super Chicken? Or set him up for an ambush? Then again, people in the Jay Ward universe are almost Too Dumb To Live, so Super Chicken is likely safe. That's good for another fresh +1, Glowworm.

Keep in mind, Super Chicken is the only chicken hanging out in his world--so why even have a secret identity?

    Anyhow, here's one.
    1. I am a memorable yet one shot character in cat and mouse series.
    2. The cat thinks my tv show is absolutely ridiculous.
    3. I leave my mark on his butt.

    Have some more clues.
    4. I'm a masked hero who seeks out justice for mice.
    5. Yes, the main characters are indeed a cat and mouse duo--but take the mouse duo part literally.
    6. I'm here, I'm there, I'm everywhere, so beware.

Could this be Mark Of The Mouse, from Pixie, Dixie, and Mr. Jinks?

Yes this is Mark of the Mouse from the Pixie and Dixie and Mr. Jinx short of the same name. Mark of the Mouse is basically a Zorro-like hero with a French accent who attacks cats who chase mice. Mr. Jinx thought this was an absolutely ridiculous tv show until the real Mark of the Mouse shows up, and makes him promise never to chase the mice again. Of course, Mark of the Mouse leaves his mark--a giant M on Mr. Jinx's rear end.
Also, there's his catchy tv jingle: "He's here, he's there, he's everywhere. So beware."

Thanks, Glowworm. Now I have a perfect one related to the thread I just posted:

    1. I live in a bygone era.

    2. Despite the setting, I'm still able to become a superhero, thanks to an object I get for saving a life.

    3. My voice actor began his career playing a boy who owned a horse, and later appeared on a show about cousins who were two of a kind.

Perhaps these clues will make things easier:

    4. My animated series also features a literary whale.

    5. I most often interact with a hottie and her little brother.

    6. The girl I mentioned loves my alter ego, but not me. Plus, her brother likes to pretend he's my alter ego.

Actually, I had this one from the first three clues, but somehow my research came up half-blank. Here goes the answer anyway. This is Hanna-Barbera's Mighty Mightor, a stone age superhero who was bequeathed a magic club from an aged hermit. I know the regular young man has a name, I just can't locate it straightaway. Nonetheless, he transforms into Mightor, and flies across the sky with his horned mask and fur cape, thwarting menacing baddies way back when fire and the wheel were the new iPhone.

Close enough. Actually, the character I had in mind was Tor, voiced by Bobby Diamond. Still, good job, OUB. You get control of the board. :) BTW, all clues are self-explanatory, except for the third one. Diamond played Louie on "The Patty Duke Show," and he also co-starred with her in a movie called "Billie." Guess you could say I played my own game here, "Six Degrees Of Hanna-Barbera."

And with that, I shall close this thread, just like with the last one, just in case it can't handle a thread this long. I'll reopen a new one so this funness can continue. ;)
