    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

This is truly one that I haven't seen. I'll just look it up.

I give up. I can't find the right answer anywhere.

OK, I think I've figured it out. Carl from "Llamas with Hats." I'm not too familiar with this cartoon, though. Never seen it, and judging by one of your clues, Gloworm, I don't WANT to see it! I had to do a lot of searching, especially since Film Cow produces a lot of other series (such as "Charlie the Unicorn," which I love).

Yes, FluidGirl, it is Carl from Llamas with hats--The ironic thing is I HATE Charlie the Unicorn--I only saw the first one and maybe one other one. I guess it's because I don't think a unicorn getting his kidney stolen is really funny. Even more funny, my boyfriend gave me a Charlie stuffed animal. (He said it was so I could give him a good home.) Yet for some reason, a sociopathic llama is hilarious. It did get rather emotional and dark at the end though.

    1. "Llamas with Hats" was created by Jason Steele of Film Cow animation.
    2. Carl is constantly doing disturbing things. His roommate, Paul constantly shouts his name in annoyance. "CAAARRRLLL!"
    3. Yeah, Carl is very very violent.
    4. Yep, they are llamas with hats.
    5. Up until episode 3--we never knew Carl's friend's name. It was revealed to be Paul. Much like Carl, many people had assumed Paul was a woman due to his fancy hat.
    6. Yeah, this clue--there is a dead human in their house. After some prodding, Carl does admit that he stabbed the man 37 times in the chest--and that he cooked his hands and ate them.

OK, unfortunately (for me), I'm going to have to pass, because I can't think of a character at the moment, and I'm going to be away from my computer all day tomorrow, so whoever wants my turn can have it.

Well, I'll take it then, and have I got a good one:

    1. I did much better in live action than I did in animation.

    2. My buddies and I will return in a feature film.

    3. I share my name with one of two concert venues where Live Aid was held.

Yes, Saltyboot, you got it. Wembley Fraggle is the right answer. Now to explain:

    1. "Fraggle Rock" was more popular as a live action show. The animated version was cancelled after just one season.

    2. There will be a live action feature film based on the original series.

    3. He shares him name with Wembley Stadium, the British venue where one part of the Live Aid concert took place. BTW, these clues do coincide with the 25th anniversary of Jim Henson's death.

So you get another turn, Saltyboot. Great job. :)

Bravo, EmeraldIsle, for choosing characters with "birthdays," landmarks, poignancy or other milestones. It's like a bonus Jackpot Question. I wish I could be like that. :)

Thanks, I finally got a character together.

    I was raised by wolves.
It was years till I saw my own kind.
I was animated by multiple studios.

    That's right FluidGirl, it's Mowgli!

    He was raised by wolves.
He didn't see other humans until he was an older child.
He was animated by Disney, Chuck Jones, a Russian studio, and a Japanese studio.

Kind of had a feeling, though I thought he was already on the list. Anyway, I can't bwain tonight, I has the dumb. No, not really, it's just been a VERY long day, and I'm exhausted from it, and I can't think of another character to use right now. I'll post a new character tomorrow once my brain recharges, and I consult The List. 'Kthnxbye. (forgive me, I've been on "I Can Has Cheezburger" too much).

You know what? My concentration is completely shot today, so I'm just going to pass my turn again. It's already been a long week for me, and it's only Wednesday!

Well, I just thought of one this morning that no one even went there with:

    1. While other characters talk, I remain totally silent.

    2. I hang out by the side of the road.

    3. Used for bait, I literally put the intended victim in a sticky situation.

Hmmm. I can think of two characters (sorta) that fit the clues. However, one of them technically doesn't fit clue one. Since I'm not sure I'm going in the right direction, I'll wait till the next set.

Ok, these are the last three clues:

    4. I was created by a pair of unfriendly animals.

    5. My story is told by a nice uncle.

    6. Unfortunately, my movie is unlikely to surface on DVD anytime soon, since most people see it as racist.

That's exactly what I was thinking, but wasn't sure if the Tar Baby could be considered a character.

Yeah, those second set of clues helped a lot.

    1. I am best known for hopping in time to my own theme song.
    2. I am mysterious, and bizarre.
    3. I may be small, and silent, but trust me, you don't want to mess with me.
