    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, ongoing-ier.

Well, I might as well answer. It's Bogey, from "Shirt Tales."

    1. He started out as a greeting card character.

    2. The Shirt Tales always had words flash on their T-shirts.

    3. He sounded like Humphrey Bogart, hence his name.

Correct, Em. Mein sister just bought the "Shirt Tales" DVD set that came out last year, which gave me the idea (though Bogey is neither of our favorite character, I felt like using him because we love his Bogart-speak, schweetheart)

Thanks, Fluidgirl. Since I have to refrain from playing the game tomorrow and Friday, I came up with a good one for today:

    1. I convince a dejected curtain-puller to play practical jokes on his buddies, and later, flee the area when the tables are turned.

    2. Like all the other bad guys, I appear in just one episode.

    3. I'm mentioned in the show's opening, along with an air polluter, a female litterbug, and a greedy genie.

Apparently from Yogi's Gang, Hilarious P. Prankster. I had a feeling it was Yogi's Ark Lark related.

Yes, Glowworm, it's Hilarious P. Prankster. Good job. :)

    1. He convinced Wally Gator, who'd been assigned the task of curtain-puller, to play jokes on the others. This briefly alienated them. But then, when Yogi and company played jokes on the villain, he ran away, having had his fill.

    2. Self-explanatory.

    3. He's mentioned in the show's opening, along with Mr. Smog, Lotta Litter, and the Greedy Genie.

So you get another turn. See you and the others on Saturday.

Thanks. Never really seen the show myself, just had a feeling.
Put myself on the spot again.
    Got one though.
    1. I am a former college roomate, visiting the main character.
    2. I must not have been a very good one, as my former roomie continuously attempts to off me.
    3. Being a bit of a prankster, I show up as the telegram delivery man.

That's right, it's Peter Rabbit. A character I grew up on.

I grew up with Beatrix Potter meself. Anyway, here's my next character:

    1. I'm the faithful (and not to mention very cute) companion to the sweet main character of my franchise

    2. Once again, we travel to FluidGirl's toy box, as I was part of the 1980's 30 minute commercial craze

    3. I'm definitely a girl's character, considering I'm pink

I suspect, from the use of the word "sweet" in clue 1, that this may be Strawberry Shortcake's cat, Custard.

Correct, Peter! It's definitely Custard, Strawberry Shortcake's pet kitten. And one of the most adorable characters in the SSC franchise, IMNSHO. Just call me a crazy cat lady, lol.

    (seriously, isn't she just adorable?)

    OK, here's a memorable character...

    1) In my first movie I am an urbane killer.

    2) In the later sequel I am driven by the need for revenge.

    3) In an unrelated TV series I am cast as a powerful businessman.

It is indeed Shere Khan - the first movie being the The Jungle Book (1967), the sequel Jungle Book 2 (2003) and the TV series Talespin.

    Over to you, Emeraldisle...

Thanks, Pete. And now, just for today:

    1. I was created for my studio's first and last Easter special.

    2. I turn out to be the one who lays Easter eggs.

    3. I help the title character and his little sidekick rescue the kidnapped Easter Bunny in time to bring Easter joy to a well-known national park.
