    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

It's Winnie and Harvey from Planes: Fire & Rescue. They are both RVs.

Yes, Saltyboot, It's Winnie and Harvey. You got the first two clues, but I'll explain the first one. They were voiced by Jerry Stiller and the late Anne Meara. So you now have control of the board. Good job. :)

    Thanks... and here I go.

My friends and I are out camping and decided to explore a castle.
I got separated from my friends.
I got shrunk down to the size of a fly.

Don't know this one. But OUB's here. I'll bet ten to one he has the answer.

OK, here are the next three clues.

My movie was originally French (it is also in English).
I've heard of many types of sandwiches, but a lion sandwich? Yikes!
    I have red hair.

I'm not keen on foreign animated films, especially this one.

Ooh, a French film. I'm not all that up on European films, sad to say. This one fills me with blanks and ?'s.

OK, this should point someone in the right direction.

My movie was directed by Jean Image.
Even though his movies were French, the title of this movie is in English.
Who eats a lion sandwich? Why, a giant of course!

Oh, man, I found it. It's Johnny, from "Johnny The Giant Killer." Now I admit I never knew this film existed until today.

Yes, you got it! It's Johnny, from Johnny The Giant Killer, directed by Jean Image.

Johnny and his friends were camping, and decided to go to a castle where they were caught.
The giant shrunk Johnny down to the size of a fly.
The giant had a collection of exotic animals and made himself a lion sandwich.

    Take it away! [thumbup]

Thanks, Saltyboot. Now for another simple one:

    1. I'm the recurring bad guy in an educational cartoon.

    2. My name's a takeoff on a composer whose music was used in a couple of classic Eric Carmen songs.

    3. I get the title character and his buddy to comply by threatening to play a little tune on my violin.

Aha, I remember this baddie: Rocky Maninoff, the chief gangster who called his Tommy Gun a "violin," threatening to play "a tune" directed at Tennesse Tuxedo and Chumley Walrus. Rocky's name is a wordplay on Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff. Tennessee and Chumley cartoons were usually intermediate segments from The Underdog Show.

OUB, if Mr. Whoopee were a real person, he'd congratulate you for getting it right. Yes, it's Rocky Maninoff, and for all the reasons you stated. So you get another turn. Good job. :)

Yahoo, thanks, EI. Now that I've re-watched an animated feature, I can tap into a virgin vein. *wrings hands in delight*

    1) This character has appeared only once to date in an animated feature film. It's also one of those Roger Rabbit films that has real live people in it.

    2) This character isn't human. He interacts with them, certainly, but he himself isn't human. Too small and too furry.

    3) Remember that moment when Disney's Bolt realized that he wasn't a super-duper wonder dog with superpowers, just an ordinary doggie with a lot of heart? This character gets the same bombshell dropped on him: he's not a super-duper amped-up version of his kind, just a regular little guy with "Little Engine That Could" heart. The truth wobbles him, but he walks it off.

Oh my, it seems the first set of clues were too vague. No prob, these next three should sharpen the focus.

    4) Walt Disney Pictures is mostly responsible for this character and his teammates, though they did get some outside help.

    5) Just to heighten the drama, this character and his teammates find themselves on the lam from the FBI. Of course, by the end of the film, they've vindicated themselves completely.

    6) Under no circumstances should this character's outfit be confused with a save-the-princess anime of the same name. Yes, both series use high-tech equipment; however, this character is much cuter. He gets some walking-around-naked scenes!

Well, I have a slight idea, but it could be any one of the characters from the film I'm thinking of, so rather than risk a wrong answer, I'll step aside for someone else.

Hmmm. Still not sure about this one. Which is just as well, since I won't be able to put a character together today or tomorrow.

*glerk* No takers? Dang, I'd take any of the principal protagonists, as long as the correct feature was named. *hrmph* Fine:

    7) Jerry Bruckheimer Productions helped Walt Disney Pictures create this partially-animated work.

    8) This character is named after a pioneering biologist who wrote a dissertation on Natural Selection, among other things.

    9) He's a guinea pig, one of three, and the team leader. There's also a star-nosed mole and a housefly on the team as well.

Now solve this one, you glorbs! :banghead:
